Tokyo 2020 allocation places up for grabs at ISSF Pistol and Rifle World Cup in Munich

More than 900 athletes are set to compete for 17 Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games quota places at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Munich.

The competition will begin tomorrow with the women’s 10 meters air rifle featuring Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist Mengxue Zhang of China.

On Monday (May 27) the men’s 10m air pistol and the men’s 50m rifle three positions will start with Polish world champion Tomasz Bartnik considered the favorite in the latter.

The women’s 25m pistol takes place on the same day, with Greek Olympic champion Anna Korakaki and Ukrainian world champion Olena Kostevych among the field.

The competition will conclude with the mixed 10m air pistol and a mixed 10m air rifle on Thursday, May 30.

Munich is a permanent fixture on the ISSF World Cup calendar and welcomes the highest amount of athletes for a rifle and pistol event each year.
