
After the completion of NEET examinations, Karnataka admission process has already started from Sep 17, 2020. MBBS / BDS courses are for duration of 5 years, along with a year of internship. The seats available for the candidates of MBBS are 6577 and for BDS it is 2674.

Eligibility criteria
- Candidate needs to be a minimum of 17 years of age and maximum of 25 years of age before Dec 31, 2020.
- Candidate need to produce a Certificate of Completion of Class 10 and 12 from the schools located in their Domicile state.
- If schooling is done from any other state, the candidates have to submit their domicile certificate.
- Candidates have an aggregate of 50% in subjects like, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with English being the main subject.
- For candidates who fall under the category of SC / ST / OBC (who stay in Karnataka), must secure an aggregate of 40% in the subjects mentioned.
- The candidates will be eligible for the MBBS seat allocation, only after they have qualified the NEET cut-off 2020.
- All candidates appearing for the MBBS course must be citizens of India.
- Candidates will be considered domicile holders, if they fulfill the below mentioned criteria:
- Candidates under this category must pursue their schooling in a Karnataka-based institute, recognized by the State Government for a minimum of seven years.
- The candidate must pursue a compulsory form of education from Class 9 to 12 (or 1st and 2nd year Pre University Course [PUC]).
- Either of the parents of the candidate must have studied from Karnataka for at least a period of 7 years
Counseling Process
The counseling process for MBBS / BDS is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bangalore for the candidates who are eligible. The counselling process for MBBS / BDS will be held on an online platform on the basis of the NEET marks. With a total of three rounds, there will be a mock - up round for the MBBS / BDS Counseling process. After allotment, if the seats remain vacant it would be used under the management quota.
Direct Admission Process
The Admission process depends on the marks obtained by the candidate in the grade 12 Board Examination and the scores from the NEET competitive exam. The candidate can apply in any medical college, by providing his/her details. The candidate is also required to apply online. After submission of documents the candidate need to lock - in the choice. After the locking - in of choices, the candidates cannot change their preferences.
Application process
The KEA, Bangalore will release the MBBS applications in the third week of October on their official website. The filling of the application form can be done only till the fourth week of October. The candidates are also requested to provide personal and academic details. The scholarship is preferably provided to candidates, who rank first in the entrance test.

- Carry a study certificate that must be certified by the Block Education Officer (BEO) / the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI)
- A copy of the Domicile certificate, if applicable
- A copy of the Reservation Certificate, if applicable
- A slip of the application fee payment
- A declaration regarding the mother tongue of the candidate
