Te Puna Ora o Mataatua

Te Puna Ora o Mataatua (TPOOM) is a Whānau Ora based healthcare provider in the Mataatua region. Based on the Te Poutokomanawa o Te Puna Ora framework, TPOOM aims to provide a broader vision of Māori healthcare for local whānau, working with Māori-centred data to improve health outcomes for Māori. Through values of integrity, caring for others, putting people first, inclusivity, spirituality, and accountability, TPOOM is supporting the Māori health perspective in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Their health services include mental, physical, social, and emotional support with an integrated Whānau Ora approach. All Māori in the Mataatua region, including tamariki (2 - 14 year olds), rangatahi (16 - 24 year olds), and kaumātua (elders) can easily access healthcare that has been tailored to their needs. This includes counselling, home-based injury or disability support, education, and more.

TPOOM is also privileged to be delivering Whānau Ora 3.0, the third incarnation of the Whānau Ora initiative. This time, it is focused on integration across all health services and enrollments for Māori, bringing the focus to community-based support. Instead of enrolling at multiple clinics, whānau need only enrol in one to access all the health services they need.
