SOLVING THE HP PRINTER PAPER JAM PROBLEM

Clear the jam externally
Clear the jam from any output tray, external input tray, or the ADF, which is the automatic document feeder. Look inside the areas where the paper enters and then exits the printer. Remove any paper that you find jammed within these spaces. You can also remove the ADF cover, and then if you find paper jammed inside, remove the paper.
You should then try to print any document; in case the error persists, go to the next step.
How to fix the HP printer paper jam problem internally
- Use a flashlight or light to inspect each area inside the printer for debris or torn paper.
- Turn off the printer first, and then unplug the power cord and cables.
- Then once you find jammed paper inside, remove it.
- You must remove such paper from areas such as the toner / ink cartridge access area.
- This can be done by opening the access door, moving the carriage, and then removing the jammed paper. You may also need to remove the toner cartridge for some LaserJet printers.
- If there is a paper path cover just behind the printer carriage, remove it and then remove the paper that is jammed in the printer.
- Pull the input tray out and remove the jammed paper.
- If there is a lower cleaning door for the printer, lift the printer gently and look under the jammed paper in the lower cleaning area.
Remove the paper path cover if necessary to search and find jammed paper.
You should also consider closing any doors / parts that are open and replacing parts that have been removed thereafter. Reconnect the power cord and cord before turning the printer back on. The problem should have already been solved.
