Foods that have been modified with the assistance of their genetic material (DNA); bioengineered food

Bioengineered food, also known as genetically modified food or genetically engineered food, is food made from organisms that have had particular modifications to their DNA introduced through genetic engineering processes. It refers to any food that has undergone genetic alteration. While the term was originally used to describe the introduction of new hybrid varieties of plants and animals (genetically altered for better market share), it is now more commonly used to describe food varieties that are designed to improve the health of consumers, the environment, and/or the food industry in general.

Bioengineered food is food that has been created using genetic engineering techniques. Specific features or desired traits can be introduced into an organism using these procedures. Bacterial genetics is one such technique. This method entails introducing genetic material into an organism in order to create a new species. These foods can be divided into one of two categories. For starters, there are foods designed expressly to help those who are ill. Foods that have been approved for human consumption are included in these foods. Foods labelled as animal food may not be suitable for human consumption if they contain components that can cause significant sickness in animals.
