The Most Frequent Windows Errors List in 2021

Some of the PC RAM is unused.

Sometimes your PC doesn't use some of the RAM. For example, you may have 4GB of RAM, but your PC will only use 2GB when you check it with Task Manager. This is usually a Windows setting issue.

Note: If only a few MB (200-400MB) of RAM is being used, it's probably being used by the PC hardware and you can't do anything about it.

The solution to this problem is simple - Windows must be configured to use only a small portion of RAM. Here's how to fix this:

  • Press Windows + R to open system configuration and type msconfig in the Run dialog.
  • Go to the Boot tab and click on Advanced Options.
  • Now tick the checkbox with maximum memory and enter the maximum amount of RAM you have installed (in MB).
  • Click OK and restart the computer for it to take effect.
  • System configuration
  • Good to know: While on it, you should also tick the checkboxes with the number of processors selected and make sure your computer is using all CPU cores. If you want to use all the CPU power, set it to the maximum number.

If that doesn't fix the problem, most likely none of the RAM is installed properly. Try reinstalling.

The hardest working fan

Your PC fan will run depending on how hot your computer is. The higher the temperature, the faster the fan runs. If your computer's temperature is correct (you can use HWMonitor to check this), but the fan is running at full speed. Then you have to check it manually.

You can also use the SpeedFan application for this purpose. It tells you the movement speeds of all the wings on your computer so you can adjust their speed. Don't worry about application compatibility, there is a problem that fans mostly only work with motherboards that can control fans.

The PC will crash before the operating system is loaded.

If your computer only displays the manufacturer's logo and crashes before loading the operating system, the problem may be the RAM or the hard disk. Because the operating system cannot be loaded, the RAM gets corrupted and the bootloader cannot hold it, or the hard drive gets damaged and does not load data on it.

If you have more than one RAM slot, pulling one at a time and starting the PC will help you find the culprit. Finally, you need to replace the damaged RAM or hard disk, whatever the problem.

The computer does not turn on.

If your PC does not turn on at all - not even a light, there must be a problem with the power supply.

Desktop users: If your computer's extension board, electrical outlet, and other connections are not working properly, the problem may be with the computer's power cord. Replace the monitor's power cable with the CPU (if you don't have a spare) to see if it's on. If this fixes the problem, you should get a new power cord.

Notebook users: Remove and replace the battery before starting the notebook. If that doesn't work, remove the battery and connect the charging cable to the laptop. Turn on the computer in Charge Power and see if it works. If you need to replace the battery, this will solve the problem.

Note: You should also try to remove all external devices connected to your computer. A faulty device can cause this problem.

Noisy Computer

If you hear a lot of noise while using the PC, there may be a request to clean it. To clean or to clean yourself using compressed air or a leaf blower. If you overlock your PC's GPU and CPU, they can also cause noise.

There is also the possibility of extra disc noise inside the DVD ROM. For more information you can check this article on all the noise making parts of the PC.
