Plans & Step by Step Guide – Max. price £500 + vat
Having been repeatedly asked for shepherd hut plans and for guidance regarding practical construction methods, we have created a set of Structural Plans and a comprehensive Step by Step Guide to building a shepherd’s hut, in exactly the same way as we build ours.
The Step by Step Guide is supplied as a hard copy, with approx. 100 pages of photos with explanatory text, showing all aspects of hut construction, when building on a metal chassis.
It consists of:
- The Base / Floor
- The Walls
- Roof Construction
- Fitting Window/Door Glass & Bars
- Fitting Roof, Insulation & Damp Proof Membrane
- Fitting the Internal Tongue & Groove
- Fitting Cover Moulds and Fixing & Dressing the Windows & Doors.
- Appendix
If you follow this Guide, your shepherd’s hut will be built to the same standard and quality as ours. If building on a wooden chassis, the Step by Step Guide is still an essential tool, ensuring a stress free build!
You may be interested to know that the most popular size huts we build have been 14’6” x 7’2” (stud work frame size, excluding cladding). Our comprehensive, structural Plans are therefore based on this size. However, customers who are building either larger or smaller huts still find the Plans invaluable and simply scale them up or down to suit.
Our structural Plans include detailed drawings of the following:

- 14’6” Rolling Chassis
- Base Construction
- Wall constructions of various options – Including plain walls and walls with different size doors and windows
- Timber Roof Structure and Assembly
- Wooden Steps for Single & Double Doors, Turntable and Rolling Chassis’

- Timber Section Dimensions
Each drawing includes a “shopping list” of parts required.
The Plans and Step by Step Guide can be purchased as a set for £500 + vat. However, if you also purchase parts from us, their cost is reduced on a sliding scale dependant on the net value of those parts. Ultimately, if the net value of parts purchased exceeds £6,000, the Plans & Guide will not cost you anything! Call us for further details.
