What is Weaving?

It is a method of textile weaving machine production in which the two types of sets of threads or yarn are interlaced at right angles to form cloth or fabric.

There are various methods like crocheting, felting, braiding or plaiting.

The Lateral threads are the weft, longitudinal threads are called the warp and the woof, or filling.

In this method, these threads are interwoven which affects the characteristics of the cloth. Loom weaved the cloth. It is a device that holds the warp threads in place while filling threads are woven through them.

Types Of Weaving:

1. Handloom Weaving- Handloom weaving was done by both genders but men outnumbered women partially due to the strength needed to batten. They worked from home sometimes in a well-lit attic room.

2. Power looms weaving- The invention of the power loom was a response to the increase in the supply of yarn in the 1780s. This leads to the expansion of handloom weaving and rises in earnings in the 1790s. So the high earnings increase the profitability of developed power looms.

3. Craft weaving - Arts and Crafts was an international design philosophy that originated in England and flourished between 1860 and 1910, continuing its influence until the 1930s.

Conclusion:

Waving Is a method of textile production in which the two types of sets of threads or yarn are interlaced at right angles to form cloth or fabric.

Weaving machines have been developed to enable the industrial production of woven fabrics inwards in large volumes at high weaving speeds. This requires the weft yarns of suitable quality, also diverse preparatory operations (winding, warping, sizing, drawing in the warp yarns through the droppers).

These operations are essential to ensure that high-quality tin holds out produced alongside minimum interruptions to production.
