The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is widely known as one of the best countries for entrepreneurs and foreign investors. It has attained a score of 6.8 on the National Entrepreneurial Content Index (NECI), ranking higher than other economic powerhouses like the Netherlands and Finland. But if you’re planning to enter the market, you’ll need a visa and the help of a reliable corporate services provider.

How to get a business visa in the UAE

It’s essential to apply for the correct visit according to the purpose of your visit. One attractive business visa option is the UAE Golden Visa. This allows foreigners to obtain long-term visas for themselves as well as their dependents.

Here are the eligibility criteria for obtaining a UAE business visa:

  • You are a professional with entrepreneurial experience.
  • You have been a majority shareholder of a start-up or a member of its senior leadership.
  • You are willing to relocate to the UAE and legally establish a business in one of the seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, or Umm Al Quwain.
  • You have a business idea or business plan that you wish to bring to life in the UAE.
  • You successfully pass the requirements of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).

Note that qualifying for a business visa does not mean that you will immediately receive a visa. You must first apply through the ICP after obtaining approval from an authorised incubator in the UAE.

After approval, you will receive an email with further instructions regarding your visa. If you are an entrepreneur residing outside the UAE, you get a temporary six-month visa to explore opportunities and settle. Then, you must convert it into a residency permit before it expires. If you reside in the UAE, you will first obtain a temporary one-month visa and must convert it into a residency permit through the ICP before it expires.

Obtaining a business visa in the UAE opens you up to more opportunities and gives you enough time to establish your company well. A corporate services provider can help you find the best solutions based on your needs, offering marketing research and strategy, risk management, and financial services.

Work with a trusted corporate services provider now and maximise your potential in the world’s best country for entrepreneurs.
