Below are some tips for supporting students :

Get your child ready for the unexpected :

Mental health problems can occur in education, and your child or others might experience them. When their children experience difficulties, parents should talk about mental health and assure them they are not alone. In a 2011 National Alliance on Mental Illness survey, approximately 27% of college students reported depression, 24% bipolar disorder, and 11% anxiety. Communication is crucial. Having the freedom to discuss their concerns with you without fear of being judged will make them feel more comfortable.

Validation and Staying in Touch :

Parents must schedule regular phone calls with their teenagers who are in school. Don't confine your conversation to messages and emails. Listening to your child's voice or electronically interacting with them makes it easier to tell when something is upsetting them than it is to read their mood in a text message. It's also crucial to regularly check in with family and friends to discuss any behavioral changes in your child.

Encourage Healthy Habit :

There can never be enough emphasis on maintaining a healthy diet, getting adequate sleep, and exercising regularly. Taking care of your health is easy to overlook when starting a new job or dealing with a stressful situation.

Don't give your student a veggie-eating lecture. Instead, please find out how they feel when they consume healthy foods or get up at the same time every day. They will be able to link self-care to emotional stability as a result.
