See the Christmas lights in Perth

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year whether you are young or old. One of my favorite things about this holiday season is the city of perth christmas lights that seem to come out of nowhere. No matter where you live, there are always people who put up Christmas decorations. It's truly remarkable when you consider the effort required to put these decorations together. In Perth, some homes put more than 500 hours of work into installing the decorations. Technology has provided some amazing enhancements like syncing music and lighting. Now you can turn the light on and off to play music, making the experience a hundred times better. If you have the chance, take a walk around Perth and see the houses decorated for Christmas. It is definitely worth spending a few hours of your time. Many homes in Perth are taking part in the Perth Christmas Lighting Competition, to raise money for PMH (Princess Margaret Hospital). If ever there was a good reason, this is it. Some houses will ask for donations, but not for their own use. Donations go to Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the most amazing hospitals in Australia.

Whether you live north or south of the river, there are many different Christmas lights to look at. I was amazed by the ideas of the people who make the jewelry. Some have a giant Santa Claus, and others have a giant reindeer and a candy cane. The sky is the limit these days, a lot of money is spent on decorating homes. It's done for fun, pride and to help raise money for a good cause. In past years, thousands of dollars have been raised for PMH, which is significant.

I want to recommend the house in Churchlands, which has been redecorated in a really nice way. Maybe it would be worth the 40 minute drive. If you feel like going further south, there is a castle outside of Mandurah that is well worth a visit. However, the ones scattered across Perth (and there are hundreds of them) are also worth a visit. Bring the kids and enjoy a few hours of Christmas spirit. I know you will enjoy it - I did. Be prepared to park and walk a bit, because these houses are popular and can get busy.
