Social Prejudice Exists: Marxism Review social classes shown in the movie.

"What made you think you could put your hands on my fiancée?! Look at me, you filth! What do you think are you doing?" In the movie Titanic written and directed by James Cameron in 1997, depicts the struggles between social classes that shows how great is the gap between the upper class and the lower class. The story was a dynamic love story between a brash lad from steerage and an upper-class girl bursting to go out of her cage. The writer/director was inspired by reproducing an event which is a better version of those in the past TV shows. Although it was not the director's forte to write a romantic film, he was able to produce a high quality film. This review will give emphasis on the struggles of the social classes shown in the movie.

The story began by introducing the present-day characters, wherein, a deep sea investigation was held to investigate and retrieve the treasures that are hidden underneath the ocean where the R.M.S. Titanic sank. Then the old Rose narrated her experience on the Titanic's maiden voyage until its dramatic sinking. After a while, it was narrated that Jack Dawson won two tickets for him and for his friend through poker for the voyage of the Titanic. As the voyage started, Rose did everything to rebel against her pretentious fiancé and class-conscious mother and decided to ran towards the aft deck of the ship where Jack successfully rescued from jumping of the ship. As a reward for saving the life of Cal's fiancé, he invited Jack to a dinner on their first-class table. Jack brought Rose to the third-class where they danced all night long and enjoyed along with the other immigrants. note:DREAMERS NEVER DIE

Rose found out that Jack was a great sketcher on the streets of Paris, so Rose asked Jack to draw her nude wearing only the diamond necklace. After a while, the Titanic hits an iceberg and the captain along with the other crews concluded that the "unsinkable" ship will sink. But James Cameron diverted the attention of the viewers away from the calamity that happened, focusing on the struggle that Rose and especially Jack were experiencing. Jack was set-upped by Cal and was arrested and was placed at the bottom part of the ship. Rose had a hard time on rescuing Jack but Cal was not yet over and he chased the two with a pistol even if the water is already freezing. The upper-class people were loaded to lifeboats that were only half-filled while the lower class passengers were left locked up at the lower deck of the ship because the first-class people are the priority. Jack and Rose jumped off the ship and stayed floating for hours. Rose survived the freezing water but, unfortunately, Jack did not survive. At last, Rose thrown the blue diamond necklace at the ocean. note:Moonage Daydream

From the beginning of the movie, Titanic showed a very disturbing conflict between the upper-class passengers and the third-class people. From the characters, Jack Dawson who is a lower-class passenger and Rose DeWitt Bukater who is an upper-class lady, it demonstrates the gap between social classes. The story, generally, is presents the idea of the conflict on how the people on the upper positions treat the lower-class passengers. In fact, one of the scenes in the movie portrayed a very serious matter about this issue. It was shown on the part where the ship was already sinking little by little and the crew are evacuating all the first-class passengers while the lower-class passengers are locked up inside the ship so that they will drown and also to prioritize the upper-class passengers' safety. This scene depicts how massive is the social prejudice back then in Europe.

It takes power or superiority for you to be saved on disasters. It was shown how inequality ruled the world and how devastating the effects are, especially on the well-being of the lower class people. It was seen on some scenes of the movie, that the lower class people suffered a lot on the sinking of the Titanic. This depicts how the rich people dictates the society. The rich people are the one manipulating everything and they have the power to rule over the marginalize people. Hence, the rich people exploits the poor ones by hindering them to receive their rights and the equality that is due to them. The unfair judgments of people make the world more chaotic and lengthens the gap between classes. Equality was nowhere to be found. note:Jan Žižka

The movie Titanic, from its characters, screenplay, visual effects, production team and the whole production, did great on giving the audience the satisfaction on their 3 hours and 15 minutes' drama/disaster film. The actors and actresses gave justice on their roles and delivered their lines professionally and passionately which gave more flavor to the movie.

The way they conveyed their roles was truly amazing along with a heart-breaking sound effects which made the movie more vibrant and colorful. This movie is a blockbuster film, for it catches the eye of its audience making it one of the most successful movie of all time. The romantic theme of the movie clicked on the audience or viewers of the movie. Everything was smooth on the production of this move, hence, I am recommending this movie to be watched by the present generation for it contains a very meaningful content and a lot of life lessons. Nevertheless, this movie is one of my favorite movie now. Such a brilliant display of cinematography along with moral lessons. note:Kde zpívají raci
