Keep Your Blender Unplugged at All Times for Optimal Storage

Even if your blender is a permanent fixture on your kitchen counter, you should not leave it plugged in when not in use. It will not only waste energy, but it will also wear down the electrical components of the appliance (over time).

Keep in a Dry Place

If you rarely use your blender, it's likely that you keep it somewhere else. Assure that it is kept in a dry, well-ventilated location free of moisture. Moisture, like leaving it plugged in, can damage the unit's electrical components. Furthermore, excessive moisture can lead to rust and mildew.

Problem-solving

The blender market is vast, with options ranging from the most affordable to the most costly. It can be extremely frustrating when something goes wrong with a mid-to-high-level machine. Even if you take excellent care of your blender, something can go wrong. Fortunately, you can troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of issues that many people incorrectly believe are causing their appliance's death rattle.

Clogged Blades

Jammed blades are one of the most common problems encountered. This is an obvious issue when you turn on the blender. Although the motor will hum, the edges will not spin. Typically, the problem is caused by too much food getting lodged between the bottom and the blade. Remove the food from the jar and chop it into smaller pieces. You can also try increasing your speed to clear the jam. In any case, if it doesn't work, turn it off right away to avoid motor burnout.

If your blender does not turn on at all

It could be due to a variety of factors. To begin, make certain that the issue is not with the current outlet. After that, check the electrical cord of your blender for damage. If this is the case, stop using it right away. If this does not solve the problem, the power switch may be faulty.

Switch Replacement

A switch replacement is far less difficult than many people believe. Furthermore, it is much less expensive than purchasing a new unit. If a button fails, contact the manufacturer to request a replacement (they may point you to a service center). Replacing the switch is usually as simple as unscrewing a few screws, removing the old button, and replacing it with the new one.

Repair A Leak

Blenders, too, frequently leak. The leak is most commonly found in the base, which connects to the blender jar. The blade shaft is another possible source of the problem.

Fortunately, the manufacturer will assist you in locating the necessary parts to quickly resolve the issue. If the leak is caused by the glass or plastic of the blender jar, the entire piece must be replaced. Do not attempt to repair it because doing so will likely make it worse, and particles from the jar may end up in your beverage.

Before attempting any repairs on your own, consult your blender's owner's manual and warranty. In addition, any problems with the electrical system of the motor or cord should be handled by a professional. Self-repairs may void your warranty, so read all instructions carefully first.
