Do You Know the Difference Between Wheel Alignment and Tire Balancing?

When your vehicle begins to have issued running properly, you will need to look into what is causing it in order to fix it so it runs smoothly once again. Typically, when a vehicle starts to not run smoothly, this means it can be either the wheel alignment or the tire balancing. If you don’t know what the difference is, we are going to go over it.  


Before we begin, you need to understand the difference between a wheel alignment service and a tire balancing service.  

Tire balancing is when they look to see if there is a weight disproportion on the tires of your vehicle.  


A wheel alignment is when they look at how the angles of your tires are positioned.  

These are both essential services for vehicle maintenance since they both contribute to overall safety and vehicle efficiency. Both also help with the longevity of your vehicle.  


Do I Need My Wheels Aligned?  

As stated above, a wheel alignment is when the angle and the direction of your wheels are examined. You can align a vehicle in one of 3 ways. This includes a toe alignment, camber alignment, and caster alignment. Toe alignment refers to the angle of your wheels in relation to each other. For instance, if your vehicle is not driving straight and is pulling to one side, this would be an example of toe alignment.
