A Short Guideline For Shared Office Space

There is more to office space planning than just arranging furniture. It is important to plan a business's space in such a way that employees can work together efficiently.

In this article we give some guidelines of office suites for rent in Dhaka.

Planning your working space

Each business should have its own space planning to ensure that it operates as efficiently as possible for the least amount of money. Retail or office space is rented or purchased by the square foot in the business world. As a result, businesses are very concerned about getting the best value for their money. Planning space involves several factors, namely statutory regulations, which are the local, state, and federal building code requirements, as well as business requirements, such as open plans versus closed plans, as well as paper-based or digital operations.

Requirements of Statute

Building codes are defined by local, state, and federal statutes. Most of these codes are associated with safety and accessibility, but they may also affect lighting, signage, plumbing, and electrical issues. Safety concerns anything that poses a risk to employees, such as fire codes and building codes. All individuals, regardless of ability or disability, are able to access the business through accessibility requirements. Building and fire codes may differ from county to county and state to state, but handicapped accessibility is a federally mandated issue.

What is the required amount of space?

The answer to what seems like a simple question has multiple aspects, so there is no clear-cut answer. Among them are:

Work environment. It may be sufficient to have a smaller office space if most of the workday is spent on field assignments, meetings, site visits, and consultations. Office workers who spend nearly all of their time at their workstations may experience discomfort due to the feeling of confinement caused by a small space.

Climate at work. We perceive personal spaces differently depending on what we compare them to. The fact that those at higher levels of management may have larger offices is generally accepted by employees.

Perception is personal. The amount of space available can have profound psychological effects. Humans have a natural desire to occupy more space, since "more" space may denote importance, respect, and power.

Anthropometry . It is actually the size and shape of employees that determines the actual coworking space requirements, since a workspace has to accommodate them, enable them to move safely and unhindered, and enable them to do their jobs.

What are the guidelines for the size of a workstation?

A good office space should be able to accommodate visitors where necessary and provide storage. Here are some ranges:

Table 1

Applicant

Minimum Requirements*

A supervisor and employee can meet in an office with a table or desk between them

90-126" x 60-72"

228-320 cm x 152-183 cm

A person has a primary desk and a secondary surface, such as a credenza or a filing cabinet

60" x 72" x 84"

152-213 cm x 152-183 cm

Three to four people can sit around a desk in an executive office

105" x 130" x 96"

244-313 cm x 267-330 cm

Workstations for call centers, for example

Approximately 42" x 52" x 60" x 72"

152-183 cm x 107-132 cm

The allocation of working space for offices, and for workplaces as a whole, is complex, and it is difficult to come up with standards that apply to all types of workplaces. As a result, existing standards and guidelines similar to the ones mentioned here specify only the general requirements, if any.

A person's need for space should be determined by:

  1. Work height should be set according to visual or task activities
  2. The sequence in which items are used within the workspace
  3. For example, both the chair and the occupant can move within the area
  4. Communication is essential
  5. Health & Safety
  6. Maintenance access

Note: Considerations for workplace layout during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic in the context of public health requirements for physical distance are included in OSH Answers "Business Continuity Plan - Pandemic".
