Wizards of the Coast said in March that Sword Coast Legends would still get its Rage of Demons free downloadable content despite shutting down the N-Space development house.

Today, it delivered on that promise. The Dungeons & Dragons publisher released its latest video game tie-in to the Rage of Demons storyline today.

The 4GB update brings a host of new features to the role-playing game, including a new character race the Tiefling, a humanoid with a demonic bloodline and class the Warlock, a magic user who draws on the power of otherworldly beings like devils .

Updates such as these are essential for keeping players engaged in the $99 billion gaming market, and as Wizards of the Coast and many others have learned, they re also effective vehicles for promoting a story over various forms of media.A Wizards of the Coast spokesperson also said that the console versions are being worked on as we speak.

The publisher has long planned to put Sword Coast Legends on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though the spokesperson had no other comments to add on timing.D is enjoying a renaissance since the launch of its 5th Edition in 2014.

In addition to publishing the pen-and-paper and video game products, Wizards of the Coast also has a successful line of board games, and it s working with Warner Bros. on a movie based in the Forgotten Realms, the default world for D and Sword Coast Legends setting .Wizards of the Coast didn t say whether this update came from N-Space, with Digital Extremes performing the final touches, or if Digital Extremes did the bulk of the work.
