On Seymour Island researchers made the discovery of the prehistoric bird.
With the wings fully extended bird had a wing span of 6.4 meters, the largest so far discovered.
The bird belongs to a family of bentandade birds, Pelagornithidae.
- The shape of the wings they allowed to slide and move long distances over oceans, says researcher Marcos Cenizo.
The findings presented in the Journal of Paleontology.
