In between the reports of high congestion at the Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3, IndiGo airline have recently issued an advisory to the people who have planned air travel recently. IndiGo being the largest air carrier of India has requested, in their advisory to the travellers to reach at the airport at least 3.5 hours early even for catching a Domestic Flight. They have also requested passengers, that for easy security clearance enter the terminal through Gate 5 and 6 at the airport. Many passengers have shared the horrific situation and the uneasiness of of getting stuck at long queues, and some have also complained that due to delay in check in procedures they missed their flights.


IndiGo has also requested the passengers to carry along only one piece of hand baggage of 7 kg for an easier security check. Due to the high footfalls, passengers are experiencing longer than usual check-in and boarding time.

Although Delhi airport authorities have executed an action plan to decrease the congestion at T3, the passengers mentioned on Twitter that they have still encountered long queues which led to a meme trend on the micro-blogging platform.

Authorities have addressed latest news today regarding Delhi airport congestion, and mentioned that morning peak hours flights will be lessened and measures have been taken by moving some flights from Terminal 3.


"Early morning at a Delhi fish market! At least a dozen scuffles have broken out in the last 20 mins," mentioned a passenger on Twitter.

One Twitter user said on a video of showing the congestion at the airport that, "Looks like Rajiv Chowk metro station."

"Fish market. Scenes from this morning. We took the infant/toddler lane and reached the gate in 3.5hours. Took a flight after 3.5 years and I felt suffocated in flood of people," mentioned a bothered passenger.

Reporters have mentioned in today’s breaking news the reason for congestion is also of the NRIs making a hustle for India, most probably for the first time since 2019. As per news report, problems are bound to increase in the next couple of days, as it is expected to add more passengers per day.


In the past few days, passengers have been complaining on social media regarding the long waiting hours at the airport, some of them have also shared pictures of the crowd.
