Finnish Global HMD starts producing phones and tablets, Nokia's license.
Is a technology company Nokia has signed a strategic trademark and patent license agreement with the Finnish HMD Global.
The agreement will give the new company a worldwide exclusive right to use the Nokia brand in the manufacture of mobile phones and tablets for ten years.
According to Nokia, the HMD has been set up to operate as an independent company that focuses on providing a wide range with the Nokia trademark basic phones, smartphones and tablets.
To complement the rights related to the use of Nokia's trade mark HMD has conditionally agreed to acquire from Microsoft the right to use the basic phones of Nokia brand and certain rights related to design.
Divested operations include Nokia phones as well-known basic design, production and sales.
