The Hard Thing Rule lets you lead by example and keep your kids on track.

Angela Duckworth, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and author of Grit, suggests the three-part Hard Thing Rule will set things in motion:

Everyone in the family has to do something that s hard.

No one gets to pick the hard thing for anyone else.

This rule gives them the freedom to pursue something they re interested in, and it teaches them the importance of sticking with things when the going gets tough.

It s also a great incentive for you to finish your own projects and show your kids that working hard is worthwhile.
