The use of ABS has a lot of benefits. It is sturdy, resists impacts and scratches, has high dimensional stability, and is difficult to break. ABS is an excellent insulator and, when exposed to fire, doesn't conduct electricity or emit gases.

These are crucial factors for product designers who are creating electrical equipment. ABS is perfect as Injection Moulding Materials   because it has a low melting or moulding temperature. The process temperature is between 40 and 80 °C, preferably as high as it can go.


The mould temperature setting relies on what is most suited for the specific product that is to be moulded because using a higher mould temperature tends to increase the moulding cycle duration. Due to its relatively high melting point (155°C), polycarbonate is a high-performance Injection Moulding Materials, transparent, engineering-grade thermoplastic that may be utilised in higher temperature situations.


The cost of having all of these features combined is greater, but polycarbonate's adaptability makes up for this. The toughness and high strength of this thermoplastic are its defining characteristics, which translate into resistance to impacts and fracture resistance. High density (1.2–1.22 g/cm3) of the material complements these resistances.
