Intel closes in Lund - the auto industry wants to hire those who will go

It is the news service Rapidus reporting that Intel puts down its operations in Lund for almost three years.

Ola Svedin, CEO of the cluster organization Mobile Heights, tells Di Digital that the employees in the development department was informed quite recently about the American hardware company's decision to close operations in Skåne.

Reportedly, the Di Digital are several players in the automotive industry interested in employees who now must leave Intel.

Bosch Mobility Solutions, which recently established a development department in Lund, said to be one of the players.

At the end of May this year, Intel unveiled a major austerity package which the global workforce will be reduced by 12 000 employees, more than 11 percent of the company's total workforce.

Then came the news that put down the development department in Aalborg, Denmark, where 250 people have worked on software development for the mobile industry.
