A Deeper Look into the Most Common Misconceptions about Cloud Computing

With every new day, the popularity of Cloud is growing - same being evident from the increased number of businesses embracing the Cloud. However, despite such upsurge, few misconceptions still prevail among businesses.
These businesses include those who have already embraced the Cloud as well as those who are yet to do that in the coming time. In this blog post, we will take into account all such misconceptions about Cloud computing.

1. My Success in Cloud Depends on How Successfully My Servers are virtualized...

In practical terms, virtualization involves the process of taking some task into Cloud and completing the same successfully with the help of a virtual machine created by the physical server. However, it needs to be mentioned here that virtualization alone cannot help you in the long run.

You need to understand that your success in Cloud depends on how good the automated management infrastructure is working around the server.

2. Building My Own Cloud is the Only Way to Keep Hackers Away from Breaching into my Cloud...

That's not true! Actually, there are a variety of attacks sustained by Cloud that tend to make it more secure than before.

It's due to the reason that engineers protecting the network will detect newer ways to identify & tackle other areas that are prone to breaches. It does not refer to building your own Cloud. With an increase in your security needs the corresponding increase in resources that is directed towards making your Cloud more secure can add up to providing you the much-needed advantage either in terms of defeated attacks or money saved.

3. I Simply Need the Cloud to Save More Money on My IT Requirements...

With Cloud, the amount of computing power you require can be adjusted very easily, thereby giving tremendous flexibility to your budget. The key is to not focus on cost saving alone but to actually investigate as to how you can gain the competitive advantage in business with help of new & trending Cloud technologies. Just taking your brain in the cost-effectiveness aspect of Cloud computing will actually diminish whatever investment you make on Cloud.

4. I Can Change Cloud Service Providers from Time to Time...

That's also not true. Several Cloud hosting service providers are in the habit of locking down their customers by means of long-term contracts or even incurring heavy fees in case the customer makes early termination. Such a situation can be avoided only when you choose a professional Cloud services provider. There are a number of benefits of going with an experienced service provider and in order to leverage the same, you must make several considerations before making the final decision.

These were the misconceptions that most businesses have in regard to Cloud. We hope the facts mentioned with the above points clarify what businesses need to do in real.
