Smartphone torture tests come in many flavors, from perfectly reasonable deepwater dunks to utterly absurd boiling-melted-crayon immersions.

So while some stunts sensibly test the durability of various handsets in situations that stay within the realms of possibility, others merely show off their creator s outlandish imagination, usually leading to bizarre shenanigans for the watching masses.

Take GizmoSlip, a YouTube channel that describes itself as offering creative and fun tech durability tests.

For its latest effort, the team encased an iPhone SE in a slab of Flubber and dropped it off a building.

Flubber, for those not in the know, is a kind of rubbery substance, a version of which can be made from glue, Borax, food coloring, and water.

It looks like a cross between hard candy and the consequences of a heavy cold, and first showed up in the 1961 hit movie The Absent-Minded Professor.
