Elon Musk confirms Autopilot rollout will begin in about three weeks.

Following his previous announcement that its autonomous Autopilot vehicles would be available by the end of 2017, Tesla s CEO Elon Musk let the cat out of the bag in a Tweet that mentioned an earlier date.

Musk appeared to have responded to a Twitter question regarding the Autopilot rollout, confirming the release will begin in about three weeks.

All Tesla cars which were released after October 19th included new built-in hardware, expected to improve Autopilot s features.

The cars were later stripped of many first-generation Autopilot features following issues.

Tesla said that radar will now be used as a primary control sensor without requiring confirmation from the camera.
