Brexit has caused a lot of uncertainty in the UK.

British companies have already announced that they plan to

move some of their operations overseas, while London's reputation

as Europe's leading technology hub hangs in the balance.

But Amazon, which claims to have invested £4.6 billion in the UK

economy since 2010, remains bullish on the UK's future.

Amazon has announced that Prime Day, its annual one-day Black Friday-style sales bonanza, will be held for a third year running on July 10-11.

This year, Prime shoppers can get their hands on thousands of deals spread over 30 hours instead of the usual 24, with offers beginning at 6pm on Monday, July 10.

Here's everything we know about what will be on offer and how to find the best discounts.

What are the best Prime Day deals?

However, expect big discounts on everything from tech, TVs, home electricals, books, outdoor equipment and even alcohol.

Last year, there were two different types of deals: Lightning Deals, which run for a fixed period of time with a finite number available, and Deals of the Day, which ran for the entire 24 hours.

Coming from Motorola’s former premium line, the Moto X4 has been reduced a somewhat mid-range smartphone.

It has been made interesting by the fact that it is one of the few “Amazon Alexa” phones in the market and the first Android One phone for the US.

It was promised that a non-Android One Moto X4 would still grace the US.

That may have finally come, to some extent, with the Moto X4’s arrival on Amazon Prime Exclusives, unlocked, not exactly cheap, and with ads.

It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage.

The 5.2-inch screen has unsurprising 1080×1920 resolution.

Amazon Prime Day 2017 isn’t all that much better than the same event last year – and right now I’m going to explain why.

Before I go too far in saying Amazon Prime Day is akin to a citywide junk sale, there are a few items that are worth the effort.

Deal or No Deal Example: This TV Set

TCL and had a couple of mid-range televisions for a relatively small amount of money earlier today – they sold out exceedingly quick.

These televisions cost less than $500 and had Roku onboard.

The list price of one TCL TV was (or is, if they’re back in stock) $200 before discount, then $125 afterward.

Looking for the best deals?

You’ve come to the right place, because Prime Day kicks off right now, July 16th at 3PM ET / 12PM PT, and will offer a veritable landslide of deals for a full 36 hours until 2:59AM ET (July 18th) / 11:59PM PT (July 17th) over on Amazon’s website.

Just like in year’s past, Amazon will be offering two types of deals on Prime Day — regular price cuts, which will become available at various points throughout the 36 hours of the “holiday” but otherwise work as regular Amazon purchases, and Lightning Deals, which will appear for specific times and for specific quantities only — so you’ll want to keep an eye on that deal page if you’re looking for anything specific.

Or, you can join us here at The Verge — we’ll be sorting, collecting, and highlighting all the best deals for you right on this page, so check back often.

Given that it’s Amazon Prime day, there’s of course a mountain of deals on Amazon’s own Echo, Fire TV, and Kindle hardware — so many, in fact, that we’ve rounded those up in a separate post here.

As always, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime customer to take advantage of Prime Day deals — if you don’t have an account, you can sign up for a free trial here, although you’ll want to remember to cancel it within 30 days if you don’t want to get charged.

For either $13 monthly or $99 a year the retailer’s paid subscription service offers a number of perks above and beyond the free two-day shipping (and even same-day service where available).

There’s access to Amazon Music, Amazon Instant Video, and the Kindle Library, and of course Prime Day in July.

But you might find the price unjustified, especially if you aren’t using Amazon that much, or maybe you’re visiting us after getting your fill of Prime Day deals.

Either way Amazon has made it super easy to cancel, and even may provide you with a partial or full refund depending how much you used your Prime membership.

First, log into the Amazon Prime account you wish to cancel.

Next, hover over the button in the upper-right corner displaying your name and select Your Prime Membership from the drop-down menu.

Amazon Prime Day is in full swing.

Among the standout deals are those on the Echo and Dot smart speakers, which will advance Amazon’s already large lead in the smart speaker/virtual assistant market.

But beyond selling stuff, Amazon’s ultimate objective with Prime Day is to drive more Prime memberships.

That’s up from an estimated 63 million in June 2016 and just over 40 million two years ago.

According to a Walker Sands “Future of Retail Survey” more than half (55 percent) of US consumers have used Amazon Prime in the past year.

That’s extrapolated from consumer survey data (n=1,622) and suggests about 137 million Prime members (unless people are borrowing accounts), which is likely too high an estimate.
