For OnePlus fans, one wait is finally over.

They can now purchase the OnePlus 5 model of their choice, unlocked, with free shipping, and optional accidental damage warranty.

But while that does mean they can finally get their hands on the upstart’s finest, now the waiting begins to see if the OnePlus 5 is what it’s cut out to be or if there are hidden snares waiting for eager but unsuspecting early adopters.

Both models are up for grabs, one with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and the other with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, for $479 and $579, respectively.

As far as memory goes, even the lower model is already more than what the mainstream flagships offer at their highest, so you’re not exactly missing out.

Especially if the Android platform doesn’t take full advantage of that space anyway.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: there’s no reason why bikes, even full-sized ones, need to take up so much space. Bikes are mostly super-thin devices — except for those pesky handlebars. Charge, a respected bike company that ironically only began selling electric bikes a few months ago, seems to feel the same way. The company’s svelte lineup of three quite-different ebikes maintains one crucial feature: the handlebars and pedals fold, allowing the bikes to occupy a footprint just a few inches wide. To illustrate, here’s how much space the bike takes up normally: And here is…

Facebook is pausing worldwide sales of the Oculus Quest 2 while it upgrades the headset’s storage and supplements its foam facial covers with a new silicone design. Starting August 24th, all Quest 2 virtual reality headsets will come with a minimum of 128GB of storage instead of 64GB. They’ll ship with a silicone interface between your face and the headset on top of the old foam design. And all current Quest 2 owners can request a free silicone mask online to cover their foam one, thanks to a recall after some users reported skin irritation.

Facebook Reality Labs head Andrew Bosworth announced the news in a blog post today. “As more people got into VR with Quest 2, we started receiving reports that a very small percentage of Quest 2...

Baxters are innovative Apple iMacs storage solutions that help you free up even more desk space with artistic shelving, thereby expanding the concept of the space-saving all-in-one PC.

Available now on Kickstarter with a starting price of $45 for the finished version, you can get yourself a handy place to store everything from your phone to your external hard drive, all within easy reach.

While many desktops and monitors might end up with their backs against the wall, that’s not the case for all.

For those who’s backside faces outward into a room, there’s some additional functionality — and aesthetic enjoyment — to be had.

Baxters, produced by Understands, are an attempt to leverage both of those with a shelving unit with a printed finish or custom artwork.

The campaign offers a number of different options, with $2 pledges letting those with laser cutters or CNC machines cut their own Baxter using the design files.

Amazon will no longer offer its unlimited storage plan, according to the megaretailer's Amazon Drive FAQ as of Thursday.

The plan previously offered unlimited storage to users for $60 a year.

Beginning today, Amazon will offer plans based on how much storage you need: 100 gigabytes for $12 and one terabyte for $60.

You can buy as many as 30 additional terabytes.

Any customer that signs up for storage with Amazon automatically gets 5GB for free, and Prime members receive free unlimited photo storage, according to Amazon.

If you have an unlimited storage plan, you can keep that plan through its expiration date, Amazon says.

TLDR: Degoo Premium offers 10TB of premium cloud storage space with robust backup protection across all of your devices. If there was a single paralyzing fear in the first 20 years of computing, the one that filled both experts and occasional users alike with dread, it was probably the fear of forgetting to back up your work.  If you didn’t stash critical in-progress work or your gotta-have-em documents to an external hard drive with regularity, there was always the fear that a crash could delete all that valuable data forever.   Thankfully, the cloud and its automatic backup features have mostly…

The results showed most users were completely unaware of the threat posed by ransomware attacks, and how to prepare for them.

It globally dedupes and compresses backups at the source for protection in an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), across AWS Availability Zones, and across cloud providers.

We’re told it can use information lifecycle tools from Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) to place backup data on Amazon’s S3 Standard – Infrequent Access tier (Standard – IA), where storage is priced as low as $0.0125/GB/month.

Rack-scale NVMe-over-fabrics all-flash array startup E8 has decided to use HGST Ultrastar SN200 NVMe SSDs, with up to 153TB in its 2U enclosure.

This box features Xeon E3-1200 v6 product family, Core i3, Pentium and Celeron processors plus up to 64GB DDR4 main memory.

Eufy, the Anker-owned smart home brand, is announcing a new SoloCam line of battery-powered security cameras that have local storage and are designed to operate without connecting to a separate hub. The new lineup will include two “Essential” (standard) cameras, two spotlight cameras, and one solar-powered camera.

The standard and spotlight SoloCams will be offered in 1080p or 2K resolution models, and Eufy says that you can get four months of battery on a single charge. All of the cameras also offer 8GB of local storage, which Eufy estimates should hold at least two months of video.

You’ll be able to preorder all of the models of the SoloCam on Wednesday, but they’ll be shipping out at different times over the next couple months. Here...

TLDR: With a one-year subscription to the pCloud Premium Plus cloud storage service, all your files can be safely stored in the cloud for almost 70 percent off. There are generally two types of files that are probably filling up a majority of the space on your laptop or smartphone hard drive right now. One group includes all the photos, videos and other personal mementos that you’ve accumulated, all stuff that would be painful to lose. The other group is stuff you’ve mostly forgotten about, but don’t quite want to trash either. Stuff like old tax returns or a report…
