They just don't go far enough.

Put another way, it's time to bring back the company town.

The first task in this badly needed makeover is changing the names.

The current name is probably a violation of church and state to begin with.

Who can see the mountains, anyway?

Holding out hope for a new Thunderbolt display built by Apple?

Prepare to have those dreams dashed - the Cupertino firm has confirmed it's leaving the standalone display business for good.

Though Apple revealed a new 5K Ultrafine 27-inch Thunderbolt 3 display at its 'Hello Again' MacBook Pro keynote last week, the monitor was actually made in partnership with LG.

It now seems as though that will be Apple's plan for the future too - standing aside from monitor development to let third-party manufacturers take the strain.

Thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening

Apple discontinued its Thunderbolt display back in June of this year, but many hoped it was to facilitate the launch of a 5K screen sporting its own GPU.

Apple's new extravagant campus is based in Cupertino, California, and comes with an estimated price tag of around $5 billion.

The campus is powered by 100 per cent renewable energy and has one of the world's largest on site solar power farms.

Co-founder Steve Wozniak has described it as "unbelievably gorgeous", saying it sticks to the true design beliefs of Steve Jobs - beauty and simplicity.

The building is surrounding by spacious outdoor areas, reflecting Jobs' fondness of taking long walks to come up with ideas.

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955.

He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs and spent his childhood in Palo Alto, California.

p If you are in Cupertino or Milpitas, keep your eyes peeled for any blazingly fast internet speeds on your iPhone: There may be a chance you are trying out Apple’s new experimental 5G wireless technology.

/p p Apple filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission for an experimental license to potentially increase the speed and bandwidth of the iPhone’s connection, according to Business Insider, which obtained the document first.

/p p Apple will test at two locations in Milipitas and Cupertino.

The Milpitas location is on Yosemite Drive, while the Cupertino one is on Mariani Avenue, at the former Apple headquarters.

/p p “These assessments will provide engineering data relevant to the operation of devices on wireless carriers’ future 5G networks,” reads the application.

/p p The 5G technology, also called millimeter wave, is considered the new frontier of cellular connection technology.

Several new iPad models have been spotted being tested in Cupertino and nearby locations, according to mobile marketing firm Fiksu – potentially confirming earlier rumors of a planned iPad refresh arriving this spring.

The A10X will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., and the A9 by Samsung, he also said.

Not mentioned in his note is the Apple iPad mini.

Fiksu’s raw data is showing four different iPad models, but that doesn’t necessarily mean four new devices will arrive.

The company says it saw the same number of devices tested before the release of the last two iPad Pros, which means we could potentially see anywhere from two to four new iPads soon hitting the market, it estimates.

As part of Apple’s testing process, it installs a variety of apps – from popular ones to the more obscure – which ends up inevitably ends up including some apps that has Fiksu’s tracking in them.

Several cities on the u.s. west coast have begun to look at new ways to tax corporations.

Amazon's hometown of Seattle recently introduced a law which means that companies with revenues in excess of 20 million dollars (about 174 million) to pay approximately sek 2 400 sek per employee on the year.

Apple's hometown of Cupertino and Mountain View, where Google belong have also proposed similar laws.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle has the Cupertino built its proposal as previously presented in Mountain View, where it's not about a pure per-employee-basis and where companies investing in the city's infrastructure and public transport receive a discount.

If the proposal is voted through at the city hall, there must also be approved by the voters in the next election.

Just as expected, Apple has announced its next big event will happen on September 10 in Cupertino.

It will almost certainly announce new iPhones.

The invite gives little in the way of clues, featuring a stylized Apple logo and a cheeky ‘by innovation only’ tagline.

But as always, a deluge of leaks and rumors have painted a strong picture of what to expect.

From the rumor mill, we anticipate the new devices will be called the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max.

The Pro models will get triple camera systems with an ultra-wide-angle lens, the cheaper one will just have two.

With just one day away from its debut, Apple’s new Steve Jobs Theater is considered to be a possible scene-stealer when the Cupertino tech giant unveils its new 10th anniversary iPhone and more.

Turns out, the state-of-the-art, subterranean auditorium received permission to host at the very last minute.

Public records from the city of Cupertino show Apple’s application to host the event was signed off on September 1, just eleven days before the highly anticipated event.

Apple filed for a Temporary Occupancy Permit —which allows occupancy in a building still under construction— on August 8 and received approval from a Cupertino city employee on September 1, according to VentureBeat who first reported the story.

What’s the deal, Silicon Valley?

As an example, Alain Pinel agent Mark Wong sent out an email blast this morning with this news: Almost 60 homes, mostly in Sunnyvale and Cupertino, sold for $200,000 or more over asking in the last 30 days.

And we’re not necessarily talking about fancy schmancy places; the modest Cupertino home in the photo above sold for $660,000 over asking.

It’s a snapshot of just how nuts the market has become as motivated buyers fight over a limited number of homes.

The competition is especially fierce in Sunnyvale, because of its proximity to the new Apple spaceship campus, and Cupertino, which is perennially hot because of the excellence of the schools.

A house at 553 Croyden Court in Sunnyvale listed at $1,998,000 and went for $2,450,000 — $462,000 over asking.
