Hot on the heels of releasing the Mix in June, Doogee is back to release the Mix 2 just four months later.

The Mix 2 features a host of improvements like a larger battery, an 18:9 display, and a refined design, but the headliner of the Mix 2 just might be the quad-camera setup.

Dual-camera setups are becoming the norm of the rear of the phones in 2017, but it’s not often that you see dual front cameras as well.

You’ll get a standard 8 MP 88-degree lens as well as a wider angle 130-degree lens that Doogee has designed to capture selfies with entire groups of friends.

It’s calling it the “wefie,” but we will refuse to use that term from here on out.

Doogee is going to use that front-facing camera setup for facial recognition too.

Shame it was a limited-run deal.

Six months down the line, you can snap up any number of budget alternatives that do the same job.

Case in point: the DooGee Mix.

The AMOLED panel pumps out colourful hues, with exceptional contrast for the cash.

It’s not a bad screen, but your money is definitely being spent on slimming down the bezels, rather than boosting the pixel count.

Look beyond the screen and the Mix still manages to keep up appearances.

So you can get a better idea about the looks and design of the device.

Sadly the display is not on in most the pictures, so we can’t judge the actual thickness of the bezels too much, but it looks minimal from the lone last picture.

Body of the phone is quite thin with 8mm and the lenses of the dual camera in the back are slightly protruding, but nothing groundbreaking.

Doogee MIX is one of the first very successful clones of the Xiaomi Mi Mix design (at least partially) and right after the launch it managed to get quite a successful string of sale numbers.

Now the MIX 2 is already out in the market, but even now the first generation is worth a look, especially withe the extra discounted price.

Doogee MIX brings to the table 5,5-inch tri-bezel-less Super AMOLED display with HD resolution (1280×720 pixels), Helio P25 processor, 4 GB RAM + 64 GB of internal storage, rear dual 16MP+8MP cameras, front 5MP selfie cam located on the chin, front fingerprint scanner, 3380 mAh battery capacity and Android 7.0 Nougat as the OS.

Now available in blue or black color variant for just $157.67/€142.34 on the Lightithebox e-shop.

But maybe you want even cheaper and small sized phone with the same design, then the Doogee MIX Lite would be the perfect choice for you.

Having only a 5,2-inch HD resolution IPS display, MT6737 processor and 2 GB RAM + 16 GB of internal storage, but on the other hand sporting dual rear 13MP+13MP cameras aligned vertically, 8MP improved selfie cam or 3080 mAh battery.

I guess there’s no doubt, that one of the most popular trends in smartphones for 2017 is the tri-bezel less design that Xiaomi Mi Mix first introduced in the market and most manufacturers quickly followed with their own creations – even though most of them were simply clones of the prototype.

One of these clones managed to fall into our lap during the past couple of days and we got the chance to play with it and share our experiences.

Meet Doogee Mix guys, a budget Mi MIX clone that comes with impressive specs (6GB RAM, 64GB ROM, Helio P25 SoC) but a decent price as you may notice: 179,99$ at the time this review was posted.

Doogee promotes this model as one of the most impressive dual camera/bezel less smartphones and has serious expectations from its performance in the mid-range market.

Leaked photos of Doogee’s new smartphone caused a stir in China today after revealing the phone has 4 cameras!

Generally, when we hear about brands like Doogee it’s from sources outside of China, but this time around its Chinese tech sites that managed to scoop details of the new Doogee phone.

Anzhou managed to get hold of grainy photos of the Doogee Mix 2, a new flagship smartphone from the Chinese phone maker that sports 4 cameras!

We’ve seen smartphones with more than 2 or 3 cameras in the past, but the Doogee Mix 2 represents the first time a 3rd tier smartphone maker decide to develop a handset with additional cameras.

The leaked images show that Doogee has added dual cameras on the front of its new phone but each camera will offer a different optical feature.

A main ‘front camera’ is used to take selfies, but an extra ‘wide angle’ camera can be used to take group selfies.

p The DOOGEE MIX is probably one of the most interesting phones to be coming out of China in the near future.

Sporting a stunning tri-bezel-less display design and relatively high-end hardware with a power efficient MediaTek Helio P25 and 16MP plus 8MP rear cameras combo.

/p p Today, we get to see the packaging the phone will come in, with an all black look and a leather case included with the phone, it definitely has a premium feeling to it.

/p p DOOGEE tells us that the MIX will be covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both on the front and the back of the phone, giving the handset a much higher shock resistance compared to something like the ceramic back on the Xiaomi Mi MIX.

Which as we all know is one of the most fragile phones on the market.

The DOOGEE MIX also comes with a leather case, as we’ve seen in the image above, so that should help as well.

Doogee is continuing the pimp their upcoming Doogee Mix model and today we have for you two short videos coming directly from them.

Not showing much, but still enough to pick your interest for this phone, because it can easily become one of the better price/performance options in the very near future. The new Doogee Mix will try to mimic the design of the wildly successful Xiaomi Mi Mix and we will have to see in reality if they really managed to create the same tri-bezel-less effect for the phone.

It will have 5,5-inch Super AMOLED screen with front fingerprint and 5 Mpix selfie camera, both on the “chin” of the device.Rear dual cameras should be quite a highlight for the device as well, because the 16 Mpix 8 Mpix camera combo should be utilitizing the same solution as for example Huawei P10 so one RGB sensor accompanied by a monochrome one.

Such setup should improve the quality of the resulting shots so lets hope the software side of things will be on par too.

Join GizChina on TelegramThere will be most probably two versions of the Doogee Mix with either Helio P25 or Helio X30 and 4 GB or 6 GB RAM.

No matter which Helio it’s going to be it should support LPDDR4x RAM making it more power efficient thanks to the lower operating voltage.Doogee Mix is supposed to hit the market already mid-May and with the projected $200 price it can be quite competitive and help to offer a budget substitute to some way more expensive heavy weight models.Share this:TweetMorePocketShare on TumblrEmailPrint

As some of you may know, Huawei has been bashed for the lack of an oleophobic coating on their latest flagship Huawei P10.

Huawei then announced that it was because of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and that they weren’t able to add it due to technical reasons.Well, it appears as the Chinese phone maker DOOGEE succeeded in such job, at least according to them, to prove it they released a photo of a drop of water on top of their upcoming DOOGEE MIX.

You can see it down below.Dropping water on smartphones is the easiest way to check for an oleophobic coating.

We can see in the picture that the water drop didn’t splash but just stayed there.

This is on top of a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating that covers the phone’s display.

Join GizChina on TelegramIf you were wondering, the DOOGEE MIX is the company’s attempt at creating a tri-bezel-less phone — no need to say where they took their inspiration from — with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display in the size of an iPhone 7 (4.7″).

After the huge success of the DOOGEE MIX (a Xiaomi Mi MIX clone), DOOGEE is back at it with yet another admittedly copy-cat phone, this time we’re talking about an Honor 9 and Honor Magic mash-up.

The DOOGEE phone will be called BL5000 and will be featuring the same curves of the aforementioned Honor devices.

Giving it a closer look, we see how the DOOGEE BL5000 comes with the same shiny glass back cover present on the Honor 9, and the eight curved sides of the Honor Magic.

In the back we also find two cameras aligned vertically in the middle with an LED flash between them, which does make it stand out from other phones.

The DOOGEE BL5000 will be coming after the DOOGEE MIX which made the news for its Xiaomi Mi MIX-like design and so the company decided to produce the best smartphone they can once again, even if that means taking “inspiration” from other manufacturers.

That’s why — according to DOOGEE — the BL5000 will come with the same super shiny back cover and 3D glass side bezels on the front and back.

I’ve been using the thin black case that Doogee includes in the box, which is a soft rubberized material, and I quite like it.

The milling work on the phone seems oddly messy though.

It doesn’t recognize my finger about half of the time, and I find myself using the pin code to access the device more than I would on other phones.

If you pass this threshold, it goes to sleep, and you’ll need to use the power button to wake it up again.

For the average consumer that cares more about their product working vs little caveats like screen resolution, it’s really not half bad.

In the box you’ll find the regular charging brick and cable, product booklet, and limited warranty card.

We have touched the subject of the new Doogee Mix with bezel-free design in our article today already along the first hands-on video.

But with the follow-up news we have for you just now it will look even better.

Because seems like that the phone is going to be available with a sub-$200 price tag…It’s nice to see that the hardware will be matching the nice design and it certainly won’t be a low-end product like many of the Doogee models before.

And what is certainly worth noting is the fact, that it’s body will be fairly small and compact when compared with the larger Mi Mix or Samsung S8 with similar design.

Yes those are sporting bigger displays with 6,44″ and 5,7″ respectively, but still the 5,5″ Super AMOLED screen looks just enough and the body too, you can see the comparison in the title picture.

Join GizChina on TelegramDoogee Mix is currently showcased at the Global Sources fair in HongKong and while there are black and blue versions on display, there will be also one light blue coming, as documented by the picture above.
