There’s no denying that Nathan Fillion looks a whole lot like Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.

Fillion and director Allan Ungar collaborated on a fantastic 15-minute live-action fan film, which can be watched above.

The short film, which has no ties to the Sony Pictures movie that is in development, perfectly captures the tone of the popular PlayStation franchise.

In it, Drake gets captured for his supposed role in stealing a valuable bracelet that could lead to the discovery of Flor de la Mar, a wrecked ship housing $2 billion in treasure.

Based on conversations throughout, it would appear that the short takes place between Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 4, prior to Drake’s retirement from treasure hunting.

The short has all of the well-timed humor, action, and history lessons we’ve come to know and love.

The ending (spoilers) of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End literally had our wind-swept hero sailing into the sunset with Elena Fisher with their lovely daughter.

However, it did leave a few doors open for a potential sequel, many of which we’d love to see materialise in the coming years.

Of course, we’ve still got Uncharted: The Lost Legacy arriving this month, which we hope to see more of at E3 2017, which we’re incredibly excited to play.

Naughty Dog is hard at work on The Last of Us Part 2, but we can still think about what we want from Uncharted 5, and its potential release date.

If it is developed by Naughty Dog, Uncharted 5 will almost certainly capture the same level of action, charm and platforming prowess previous games have dealt in spades.

Fifty games received nominations across 15 categories, but many appear more than once.

Inside has the most potential wins since it is nominated in seven separate categories – every category for which it qualifies.

Big-budget blockbuster Uncharted 4, on the other hand, has eight nominations in total, but across fewer categories, so it could take home a maximum of six trophies.

In the Performer category, Uncharted 4 represents half the total nominations, for Emily Rose (Elena Fisher), Nolan North (Nathan Drake), and Troy Baker (Sam Drake).

Firewatch, Overcooked and Overwatch, which are particular favourites of many developers, also got multiple nominations, Firewatch with six and the othertwo receiving four.

The Witness and The Last Guardian, which respectively came out very early and very late in the year, both also received four nominations.

Plodding third act, over-familiarity, repetitive sequences.

'Cinematic', while the go-to adjective for almost any scripted action-adventure game, is key.

The siblings' relationship is central to the game, woven through the narrative with a flashback to their orphaned childhood, and contrasted against Nathan's doubts over his future and discomfort at settling down.

So, paragon of maturity, he runs off to track down the ultimate historical stash - $400 million worth of plunder, with a quest that takes him to the furthest reaches of the planet.

Multiplayer has always seemed a strange addition to Uncharted, even though it's been a fixture since the second game; a bit like hugging a friend at a train station and then realising you're walking to the same platform.

It packs in four modes, including ranked and unranked Team Deathmatch shootouts, king-of-the-hill style Plunder, and Command, where factions battle to take out the opposing team's captain.

Spend even a little time with it though, and you'll be glad it does, as it delivers enough pleasures to even make its plodding third act forgivable.
