Snapchat has opened up search across over 1 million curated public Stories, with a new feature release that could be a very helpful tool not only for users, but for advertisers, too.

The search feature allows users to find Stories relevant to their interest by keyword, from a large number shared publicly by users and brands.

The Stories search is built on new tech behind the scenes that uses machine learning to identify what’s happening in Stories submitted to the network’s Our Story feature, and to organize it by keyword accordingly.

This can identify elements shared int eh story by either elements of the image, or by words included in captions.

This new feature will roll out to the broader Snapchat community in pieces: Today, it’s coming to just a few select cites at launch, with gradual introduction to additional loaves planned from their.

A search function should help with user stickiness: The ability to easily find content you’re interested in should result in longer time spent in-app among users.

How do you go about creating such content?

For instance, a serpIQ study from 2012 found that the top results in SERPs were dominated by longer content 2,000 words .

Our advice: don t shoot for a particular word count – just make sure you cover a topic in full.

Post Hummingbird, Google has started understanding whether a query is a topic or a question.

You want to target keywords where this investment will actually have a positive ROI in terms of traffic or leads.

For example, if my target keyword gets 1,000 searches every month and I rank as 1 for it, I can safely assume that I ll get at least 300 visitors each month.

What are you supposed to write?

What's your content strategy for the next year?

There's no better way to answer those questions than with a ton of keyword research!

And it doesn't get much better than a database of 12,000 relevant ones.

It sounds like it'd be a long process with a lot of difficult decisions but actually it's pretty automated and robotic, and by using the right tools and approaches, it's not going to take forever.…

I'm trying to work out a way to get the same or at least similar search volume results to the keyword planner by using SEMrush and Majestic.

Unfortunately you can only do country targeting with these and not city/county/state.

What tools will you use?

For anyone out of the loop - http://www.thesempost.com/google-adwords-removes-detailed-keyword-planner-data-non-advertisers/

In just 10 short months, we ll all be gathered around home and hearth; in just nine short months, the chaos of filling that home and hearth with a wide assortment of colorful boxes, trees or candles will begin.

As a quick refresher, here s what I advised might impact a site s rankings with just weeks to make a difference:

Making sure your Google My Business is present and accurate

Optimizing your titles and descriptions for click-throughs

Hijacking rankings — that is, buying advertising on sites like Yelp that might already be ranking and where buying ad space is cheaper than AdWords

Double-checking the content optimization on pages that are ranking decently but just outside the higher click zones, where a single position gain can have a great impact

Basically looking into keyword tracking tools, I've never used anything like this before but they look appealing.

I've mainly been looking into SpyFu and LongTailPro, however AuthorityLabs and SEMrush have also been recommended - although SEMrush seems to be a jack of all trades type of thing.

Has anyone had any experience using these?

If so, what would you recommend?

If you do keyword research, then you were likely hit with the changes Google brought upon you:

I recently came upon a stupid simple fix.

For people who want the short version, all you need to do is:

Create a Google Manager's account.

Link your Adwords account to the manager account.

Go to Keyword Planner through the manager's account.

Google has recently changed up the keyword planner and now lumps all close variant keywords together making it impossible to see individual search volume.

Check out a few ways to get it back.

For example, it might let you know that a search phrase gets anywhere from 100K to 1M searches per month, but that's about it.

Is there a way around this?

This now seems to be an expensive type of data to get your hands on.

For this case study, the client only spent $260 / month for 2 months.

Sure they will likely spend more now that they see how well it works, but I just wanted to show that AdWords isn t expensive if you launch your ad campaigns with some basic knowledge: a little keyword research, understanding of location targeting, and writing ad copy that resonates with your audience and gets them to take the action you want.

Brand new business no brand recognition

Priced toward the low end of the market

I also built the website and guided the client on copy recommendations and CTA call to action usage so I knew it would convert traffic into leads at an acceptable level

I kept the keyword selection simple for the initial launch so we could see if there was enough volume in the area for these counseling related terms.

Turning your keyword list into ad group in just a few easy steps and no advanced excel functions.

Idea to test from this article:

Idea: Customize Headline 2 and Pathway for each ad group based on your search term to increase conversions.

Details: A very common best practice is to have a customized Headline 2 H2 and Pathway for each ad group based on your search term only one search term per ad group .

Including your search term multiple times in your ad copy is a great way to ensure alignment and relevance.

This may result in higher quality scores, better positions and improved CTRs.

LinkedIn continues to add smaller updates and features to help refine and improve the user experience.

Earlier this week, we reported that LinkedIn is now giving users the ability to add images in comments, and now, LinkedIn has announced some new tools to help users get a better understanding of who’s viewing their profile – and ideally, why.

As you can see in the above example, in addition to total profile and article views on the platform, you’ll also soon be able to see how many of those views came as a result of search.

“With more than 20 million professionals including recruiters, hiring managers and decision makers using LinkedIn search every week, making simple improvements to your profile can make the difference in being discovered for a new job or professional opportunity.”

The new insights will also expand upon the existing data on where your profile visitors work, while there’s also a new element which displays the exact search terms people used to find you (bottom right of last screenshot).

These insights could prove invaluable for those looking to refine and improve their LinkedIn presence, and ensure they’re appealing to the audience they most want to connect with.

I'm in the process of creating a website that outlines who I am and my profession.

When building my personal brand, what is more important, creating content keyword oriented towards my profession, or towards my name?

I'm looking to drive traffic, and email captures to show future employers what I'm capable of.

One of the biggest problems you face when trying to rank your content is that everyone is shopping for keywords in the same place, and subsequently everyone is chasing the same search engine traffic.

What usually happens is, you come up with an idea for a piece of content, go to Google Adwords and check to see what the best keyword is for that topic.

The problem with this keyword research method is that EVERYONE is doing it.

Including your competitors How good would it be if you could find hidden keyword gems that your competitors had never heard of?

Keywords that would help you compete for rankings and traffic with underdone and outdated content?

Yea I know, those questions are rhetorical – it would be totally awesome.

I m always looking for an edge in PPC so that my campaign s performance will shine in a very competitive landscape.

Back in 2013, I started talking about how to use programming to set up time-saving and performance-boosting automations with AdWords Scripts, at the time among the newest capabilities in AdWords.

But now that we re about to head into 2017, there s an entirely different AdWords power feature that is starting to let us use programming to improve performance: ad customizers customizers for short .

Customizers sit at the intersection of two of my favorite topics: feed-based advertising and programming.

I ll cover some innovative ways to use the older feed-based capabilities, but I ll also cover some of the brand-new programming-based ways to use the feature to show different ads based on the device or the audience list a user is on.

Ad customizers just got new capabilities

Choosing the right keywords to optimize a site, whether online or a company’s presentation site, is a lot different now than it was a few years ago.

In addition, there is still some blur related to the meta keywords tag: is it still necessary to define it on a site?

In this post, I will show you an example of an SEO keyword selection methodology for an online store that wants to sell teas, indicating the tools used.

Consider both the money keywords (keywords commonly used by people with intent to buy) and generalist, informative words.

It is very important to have a clear focus in mind when we start choosing keywords.

We notice that there is a wide range of teas that are marketed online and easily identify 10-20 keywords that seem more important, such as green tea, black tea, sage tea, chamomile tea, etc.
