It looks like Microsoft will be pulling out all the stops at E3 2019, with a “fun” and “big” presence expected for the Xbox One.

In an interview with Director of Programming of Xbox Live Larry Hryb (better known as Major Nelson), Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Gaming Phil Spencer discussed a variety of topics.

One of the highlights of the podcast was Spencer’s revelation that Playground Games and Rare are working on new projects.

It is unclear if more details will be revealed at E3 2019, but unconfirmed rumors claim that Playground Games is developing Fable 4.

The more important part of the interview was when Spencer talked about Microsoft’s plans for E3 2019.

“This is going to be a fun E3 for us… we had a discussion internally.

Microsoft is rebranding Xbox Live to Xbox network. Instances of the new branding started appearing in the Xbox dashboard recently for beta testers, with clips being uploaded to “Xbox network” instead of Xbox Live. Microsoft has now confirmed the name change.

Billed by the Xbox team as “the console [that] developers wanted us to build,” the console promises to deliver four times the graphical power of the current Xbox One.

And for users without a 4K TV?

AMD FreeSync ensures that refresh rate is undetectable by the user while dynamically adapting to mitigate latency and increase the smoothness of gameplay.

Instead, the console will feature 12GB of GDDR5 memory (4GB reserved for the operating system) and 326 GB/s bandwidth, far more than most its Xbox One relatives and the PS4 Pro.

In early June, Director of programming for Xbox Live Larry Hryb (“Major Nelson”), and Kevin Gammill from the Xbox engineering team talked about decisions behind the dev kit and gave us our first look at the back of the unit.

In April, 2017, Windows Central reported a “partial” list of games that will receive 4K support, including a few that haven’t been officially announced.

Larry Hryb, a programmer at Xbox who's also known as "Major Nelson," has announced a new customizable message safety setting coming to the gaming platform.

In a YouTube video Monday, Hyrb said Xbox Insiders would soon have more control over the type of content they see while gaming.

The new setting will start rolling out in October in preview in 21 languages.

Once the setting starts rolling out, users can find it by selecting General > Network Settings > Online Safety and Family > Messaging Safety.

Players can adjust the settings for the text in received messages and message requests, media in received messages and message requests, web links in received messages and whether you can view hidden content.

"One thing that's important to keep in mind, regardless of the filter selected, is that the feature was not created to limit the type of content you or your friends can post online," Hryb said.

As seen in the clip above from Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb and Xbox Platform VP Mike Ybarra, the redesigned Xbox dashboard features four new areas as well as a ribbon across the bottom showcasing recently played games and apps.

Microsoft is also allowing users to customize the Home screen using “content blocks,” a feature that’s long been requested by gamers, and has streamlined the Guide section to boost navigation speed.

Microsoft is rolling the changes out to Alpha ring Xbox Insiders today and will add additional Insiders to the mix in due time.

General availability for all is expected sometime this fall.

Xbox is headed to Cologne, Germany for next month's Gamescom gathering, and it will reveal all-new bundles and accessories at the show, according to a blog post by Microsoft's Major Nelson.

An earlier version of the blog post noted there would be "all-new Xbox hardware" shown during a special episode of Inside Xbox, however the blog has since been edited to read "new Xbox One bundles and accessories," with no mention of new hardware.

So, now we know for sure that it's unlikely the Xbox Two will be revealed, considering Microsoft redacted its "all-new Xbox hardware" line.

Instead, we should expect new Xbox bundles featuring games, consoles and controllers, hopefully at attractive prices.

Plus, we'll see brand-new accessories, which could include the rumored new Xbox Elite 2 controller.

The upgraded controller, first spotted in leaks in January, could have rubberized grips on the front, new indicator lights, USB-C, Bluetooth connection, adjustable tension in the thumbsticks, and a charging port similar to those found on Apple MacBooks.

If you had your heart set on an Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition but haven’t managed to pre-order one yet, we’ve got some bad news for you: you are officially out of luck.

Microsoft announced today that the limited-edition console is already sold out, and it doesn’t sound like it’s planning to make any more.

Hopefully you managed to get one, otherwise you might be at the mercy of scalpers if you still want to buy one.

Microsoft revealed today that over the past five days, the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition has become the fastest selling Xbox pre-order in history.

That has some interesting implications for the future – considering Xbox One sales have been lagging behind those of the PS4 for the entire console generation, it’ll be interesting to see if the Xbox One X helps Microsoft catch up in any significant way.

In any case, Larry Hryb commented on Twitter that the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition is “officially sold out,” suggesting that Microsoft won’t be making any more.
