During a major annual tournament for the fighting game Street Fighter V, the series' creators at Capcom announced the biggest anthology ever for the series—if not for Capcom as a game maker.

On Sunday, the developers interrupted their Capcom Cup event to unveil the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, which will combine a giant set of games, a bunch of features, and an ambitious every-system-simultaneous launch in May 2018 for $39.99.

The primary selling point of this set is that it will finally combine every mainline, sprite-based Street Fighter game in one anthology.

The timeline starts with Street Fighter (no number—this is the 1987 original with only Ken and Ryu selectable), and it continues with every version of Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha, and Street Fighter III.

(Sorry, Pocket Fighter and Street Fighter: The Movie game fans.)

What's more, Capcom will deliver full online support for four entries in the anthology: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

While last week’s eShop update was pretty massive in terms of new addition, this week things are settling down a bit.

There are still some exciting games coming to the eShop, but perhaps none that are quite as big as last week’s Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition.

Still, you’ll probably be able to find something you’re interested in, especially if you’re a fan of fighting or shoot ’em up games.

The headliner for this week is unquestionably the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

This bundles 12 different Street Fighter games together into one $40 package, so there’s definitely enough for fans of the series to go crazy.

We don’t have a specific list of which games are included in the collection, but Nintendo and Capcom say the compilation covers the Street Fighter 1, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III, and Street Fighter Alpha series.

She's far too happy about this

The next character to be released for Street Fighter V has been revealed as Ibuki, a returning face that fans might recognise from Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV, as well as some of the Street Fighter spinoff titles.

She was revealed today in a trailer showing off her ninja moves and beating up Guile, the last DLC character, like it s nobody s business.

She comes complete with kunais to throw, a kite to glide around on, and a bomb to throw that can set up combos by exploding and keeping an enemy in the air for as long as possible.

There s no word yet on exactly Ibuki will be released, but until she is, at least we get to watch Guile get thoroughly destroyed in the trailer.

Ibuki is the third of six DLC characters for Street Fighter V to be released in 2016, as part of the first wave of DLC, with a second wave coming out in 2017.

Check out the reveal trailer for Ibuki, and look at what you can t have just quite yet below.

Capcom has pushed back the launch of Street Fighter V s newest playable character due to unforeseen delays, and announced that the game s next wave of content updates will now arrive in late June.

Returning brawler Ibuki will make her Street Fighter V debut later this month alongside the launch of a single-player Story Mode.

An agile ninja character, Ibuki relies on speed and misdirection during battle, making her a formidable opponent.

The publisher held back the launch of DLC characters Alex and Guile until the last weeks of March and April, respectively, and Ibuki missed her planned May launch window entirely.

Acknowledging its missteps and lack of communication with its fans, Capcom has pledged to communicate information surrounding content releases in Street Fighter V at a much more rapid pace going forward.

Boasting several hours of gameplay, Street Fighter V s Story Mode will reportedly bridge the narrative gap between previous series entries Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV, and will be available as a free update for all players starting later this month.

On Thursday, Street Fighter V's first "season" concluded with a downloadable update that included the game's 22nd fighting character.

If you're curious: the new guy is Urien, a tall fellow who first appeared in Street Fighter III wearing only a thong.

SFV's Thursday patch, however, apparently includes "an updated anti-crack solution" that Capcom insists is "not DRM" but rather an anti-cheating protocol.

The anti-crack solution is causing a UAC prompt to pop up for the PC version's users.

Our own Aurich Lawson confirmed the news by booting the latest patched version; his error message appears above.

DJ Steve Aoki and his Dim Mak record label and fashion brand have teamed up with Capcom on some cool Street Fighter-themed items: a limited edition countertop arcade cabinet, a clothing line, and even a remix of the theme song for Street Fighter icon Ryu.

The countertop arcade cabinet, which you can see at the top of this post, will allow up to two players to play four different Capcom games together: Street Fighter II: World Warrior, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and Final Fight. The cabinet is made in partnership with Arcade1Up, and it’s the first two-player countertop cabinet the company has made.

If playing is believing, a free trial with all DLC characters unlocked could lead to a needed sales surge for Street Fighter V.

Capcom announced that its one-on-one fighting game Street Fighter V will be free to play on Steam next week, offering PC players a glimpse of new features and balance tweaks arriving in the months ahead.

The free trial will also grant access to all previously released DLC characters, making it easier for Street Fighter fans to pick a favorite among the game’s starring cast.

Released in 2016, Street Fighter V is the latest entry in Capcom’s flagship fighting game series, delivering tournament-grade gameplay and a diverse lineup of playable characters.

Capcom further upgraded Street Fighter V‘s cast with the recent launch of its second season of content, which introduces a number of additional characters as paid DLC.

Capcom notes that it will use the upcoming trial as a test bed for a variety of new features and improvements heading to the PS4 and PC versions of Street Fighter V in its next update, including more accurate matchmaking, reduced match load times, and an interactive player timeline that ties into a new friend management system.

As part of the marketing for Toyota s 2017 C-HR, this car has entered the world of Street Fighter II and seems to have a bone to pick with M. Bison.

Admittedly, Ryu is driving the car but it s not clear whether the auto blocking bonnet flip and laser beam headlights come as standard on the vehicle.

The reason for the crossover is clear enough, as this year marks the 30th anniversary since the original Street Fighter was released in the Japanese arcades.

Most people seem to forget the first game, which is likely why this video shown below picks the better-known Street Fighter II for the crossover.

Toyota does many of these kinds of campaigns though, as over the years there have been various Gundam, Dragon Quest and even Final Fantasy crossovers.

For fans of Street Fighter II, don t forget that the Nintendo Switch will be getting Ultra Street Fighter II later this year.

Capcom is set to launch in-game advertisements in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on December 11, and players who choose to keep them activated will get to enjoy some bonuses and content.

Capcom called the in-game ads Sponsored Content, and they will show costumes and bundles that players may purchase for Street Fighter V, as well as the Capcom Pro Tour.

The feature was revealed alongside the announcement that there will be a free trial of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on the PlayStation 4 and PC from December 11 to December 19.

The ads will be seen on Street Fighter V characters through Ad Style costumes, on loading screens before a match, and on certain elements of some tournament stages.

For players who would rather not see the ads, there will be an option to turn them off through the Battle Settings.

Unfortunately, there is a catch when deactivating Street Fighter V in-game ads.

Juri is coming to Street Fighter 5, Capcom has revealed.

In a blog post, Capcom detailed all the moves Seth's South Korean spy will be bringing to the roster.

Juri will also play a part in the new, free story DLC, "A Shadow Falls", which will explore what she's been up to in the time since her debut in SFIV.

Her first V-Skill is called "Kasatsushu", where Juri charges up before rushing her opponent, kicking them from behind.

Her V-Trigger, "Feng Shui Engine Type Alpha", sees Juri activate her left eye's Feng Shui Engine, which can cancel all of her standard attacks into one another for massive chain combos.

Lastly, her Critical Art, "Sakkai Fuhazan" kicks a large vertical blade towards the enemy which strikes multiple times.
