Early last month, a set-top box apparently designed for T-Mobile’s upcoming television service appeared in numerous images published by the FCC.

The documentation indicated that the service’s launch was drawing near, but a new report claims there may have been a delay in the Uncarrier’s plans.

As of now, sources claim, T-Mobile is planning to launch its own TV service some time next year.

T-Mobile revealed plans to launch its own “disruptive” television service earlier this year, stating that it would make the service available to consumers some time this year.

A new report claims on behalf of unnamed sources that the plan has changed and the carrier is instead eyeing a new launch date that’ll fall in 2019.

Though T-Mobile could still launch the TV service this year, the sources claimed, the carrier would have to launch a “garden variety” product.

An international hacking group successfully exposed the personal information of roughly 2.3 million T-Mobile customers, the carrier has revealed, though particularly sensitive details were apparently spared.

T-Mobile shut down the hack on August 20 and is in the process of notifying affected customers by text message.

The company’s official statement on the hack says that potentially exposed data includes customer names, billing zip codes, phone numbers, email addresses, account numbers, and prepaid or postpaid account types.

But critically, T-Mobile says credit card information, social security numbers, and passwords were not compromised.

It also says that customers who don’t receive notifications were not impacted by the hack.

Additional details a T-Mobile spokesperson shared with Motherboard confirm the scope of the hack — “about” or “slightly less than” 3 percent of the company’s 77 million customers are affected, which would be just under 2.31 million accounts.

T-Mobile has launched a new $50/month unlimited prepaid plan.

The new offering is through T-Mobile Prepaid, not Metro by T-Mobile, and it’ll only be available for a limited time.

The plan gives customers unlimited data on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, as well as unlimited talk and text, but there are a few big restrictions.

Unlimited plans are popular again, but they’re not quite the same as unlimited options from years ago.

Multiple carriers offer more than one “unlimited” variant, each at different price points, and each with certain restrictions or benefits not available on alternative unlimited options.

That’s the case for T-Mobile’s limited time offer: $50/month prepaid for unlimited data, but with big limits on video resolution and tethering.

The folks responsible for the T-Mobile USA launch of the OnePlus 7T finally got around to announcing the product this morning.

This comes after the device was first shown on September 26, 2019, in full, by OnePlus.

The OnePlus 7T for T-Mobile USA will be able to be attained (by qualified T-Mobile customers) for zero dollars up front and zero interest, for $25 a month for 24 months.

With the full math in play, the full retail price of the OnePlus 7T from T-Mobile USA is approximately $600.

So you get the device for the same price with T-Mobile USA as you’d get it from OnePlus for one up-front cost – but with T-Mobile the cost is spread out over 24 months.

Both the Glacier Blue and the Frosted Silver editions of this device will be available starting on October 18, both T-Mobile USA and straight through OnePlus online.

p T-Mobile’s been on a roll lately.

Hot off the carrier’s launch of Digits — the benefit that lets subscribers forward calls and texts to another phone, a smartwatch, or PC — the self-coined “Un-carrier” is back with another promotion.

As part of T-Mobile’s “Thankiversary” event celebrating the one-year anniversary of the launch of T-Mobile Tuesdays — a weekly promotion that gifts customers free movie tickets, ridesharing credits, takeout pizza, and more — the carrier is launching a Twitter contest: the T-Mobile “Thankathon.” Starting June 6, T-Mobile will put “tens of millions of dollars” up for grabs for eligible T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT customers, including free Lyft tickets for a year, free Baskin-Robins ice cream for a year, free gas for a year, a $2,000 StubHub gift card, and a trip for four to any event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“The carriers just love to see you sweat.

But this summer, the Un-carrier’s gonna help you stay chill —with ice cream, movies and a whole lot more,” John Legere, president & CEO of T-Mobile, said in a statement.

One year ago, we changed all that.

T-Mobile is alerting Galaxy S8 preorder customers via text message that the carrier plans to begin shipping devices on April 19, two days before the official release, according to a report by blog TmoNew.

T-Mobile didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

But the company has a track record of shipping out high-profile smartphones ahead of their official release dates.

New Year’s is almost upon us, and that means that the annual cycle of folks making resolutions to get in shape in almost upon us.

And T-Mobile wants to help, with some deals on the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch that might help you actually keep those goals.

The deals go live on January 2nd, and aren’t too shabby: for the Apple Watch, if you buy either Apple’s latest Series 4 model or last year’s Series 3, T-Mobile will give you a $200 discount on the second one.

And fans of Samsung’s platform have an even better deal: buy one Samsung Galaxy Watch, and T-Mobile will give you the second one for free.

As always, there’s a catch for both deals: you’ll need to sign up for a T-Mobile plan for both your full price and discounted LTE watch, and one of those has to be a new line.

It’s not quite as onerous as the phone deals that need you to sign up for a full new line of cell phone service, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Manufacturers pursuing exclusive handsets isn’t anything new: Sprint has the HTC Bolt, AT has the Galaxy S Active devices, while Verizon has the Droid series from Motorola.

T-Mobile also stocks exclusive phones, as well as own-brand devices, and, thanks to a recent tip from a trusted source, we now have an idea of what the latest of these will be.

Earlier today we received further confirmation of a T-Mobile phone called the REVVL, but that’s not the only upcoming Tmo-branded device.

The T-Mobile Alchemy, pictured above, is reportedly being developed by Coolpad: the manufacturer behind the Coolpad Defiant, a budget T-Mobile device (seen below) released in June.

The Alchemy shares a lot in common with the Defiant, design-wise — featuring a curved, textured back, rear-mounted speaker, and similar camera positioning.

However, T-Mobile looks like it’s taking advantage of the 2017 dual-camera trend on this new device.

The worst thing about T-Mobile has long been the one thing that’s out of its control: the network.

T-Mobile’s network relies almost entirely on mid-band spectrum, which is worse at travelling long distances and penetrating buildings than the low-band spectrum used by Verizon and ATSo to fix the problem, T-Mobile just spent $8 billion on a shiny new set of spectrum licenses in the premium 600MHz band.

The free airwaves are coming from moving over old TV stations, which is expected to take up to three years in most regions.

But in some rural areas, there’s no TV service, so T-Mobile can set up its new network much faster.

During an earnings call earlier this week, T-Mobile hinted that the first 600MHz radios would be coming online in some areas later this year.

In places where no TV stations are using the airwaves, all T-Mobile will have to do is test new equipment, and then mount it on towers.

According to reports on the Down Detector and Twitter, thousands of users are having problems getting any data connectivity, even if a cell signal is still showing.

The Down Detector map shows reports across the country, with a concentration on the East Coast.

It could be a problem with a regional data center, or a nationwide problem that isn’t being reported yet on the West Coast, thanks to the time difference.

Update: T-Mobile has stated that the issue is now resolved
