In just a couple of short years, The Game Awards have risen to become one of the most important awards shows in the video gaming calendar.

As well as giving out dozens of awards, including a trio for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the awards ceremony also played host to a number of exclusive trailer reveals.

Our friends over at GamesRadar have assembled a list of all the winners from last night's show

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds fans got their best look yet at the game's new desert map in a new trailer.

Called Mirimar, the map will introduce all new vehicles and weapons to the game, and will be available alongside the game's 1.0 release which was announced as coming on December 20th.

Death Stranding made a big appearance at last year's ceremony, and this year was no different.

Twitch is turning the The Game Awards into a more interactive experience with a livestream overlay viewers can use to vote on who they think will win.

The extension rolls out at 5:30 p.m. Pacific on December 7, which is when the award show will air.

Muxy, a company that specializes in creating tools for broadcasters, created the overlay with Twitch Extensions.

While on a streamer’s channel, viewers can use the extension to vote for which games they think will win in each of The Game Awards’ categories such as Best Art Direction, Best Narrative, and Game of the Year.

By voting, the viewers will join the streamer’s “team,” and a leaderboard will show which team has guessed the most winners correctly.

Broadcasters can also choose to co-stream with another channel, which will pit the two streamers’ teams against each other.

Level Squared won the best student game, a new category awarded for the first time tonight at The Game Awards.

It went by a little fast, so I have no idea how to describe it.

But it was made by a team at Swinburne University, and the older-looking guy who accepted the award is one of the students, as he said, “I’m graduating next week.

The game competed against other student titles entitled Hollowed, Meaning, From Light, Falling Sky, and Impulsion.

Bethesda has heard your cries, single-player gamers, and it has enlisted the help of Lynda Carter to rescue you.

The publisher debuted a tongue-in-cheek video during The Game Awards that imitates those ASPCA ads for animals in need.

Only the animals in this scenario are people who prefer the endangered narrative-driven solo gaming experience.

The publisher didn’t announce any future single-player games, but it did point to its last two years of releases — many of which focus on offline campaigns.

It is also launching something it is calling the SavePlayer1 campaign.

The video also revealed a big Bethesda sale that will cut the prices of its games by up to 50 percent through digital stores.

Last night Los Angeles hosted The Game Awards, which is kind of like the Oscars, but for games, and with marginally less weeping on stage.

As well as affording the games industry an opportunity to give itself a big old pat on the back, the ceremony serves another purpose: publishers get to show off their upcoming titles, which means new trailers and gameplay footage on which we can feast our hungry peepers.

Here are the most exciting reveals from this year s event.

We still know very little about Hideo Metal Gear Solid Kojima s next game other than that it stars The Walking Dead s Norman Reedus and it s a PS4 exclusive , and to be honest this new trailer doesn t reveal a great deal more concerning gameplay.

What it does tell us is that both Guillermo Del Toro yes, really and Mads Mikkelsen will be in it, and that it ll feature creepy babies in jars.

It s shaping up to be very dark indeed.

At The Game Awards Thursday, the latest trailer for Death Stranding, a surreal star-studded title for the Playstation 4 was unveiled by Geoff Knightley, and it's just as weird as you were hoping.

The clip offers our latest look at legendary Metal Gear Solid game developer Hideo Kojima's new project, which features "Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus, director Guillermo del Toro, Mads Mikkelsen, incubated, half-ingested babies, dead ocean life, invisible monsters, tentacles and who knows what else.

Seriously, watch the trailer above to get a sense of the craziness.

The second trailer for Death Stranding was revealed at least year's Game Awards, and the first new project from Kojima following his public split from Konami in 2015 after 30 years with the company.

Kojima and del Toro delivered the award to Cuphead for Best Art Direction

In an interview this year with CNET Magazine, Reedus explained how their collaboration began.

The fourth annual Game Awards wrapped with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild taking home game of the year honors.

Owlchemy labs teased ‘Vacation Simulator’

During the preshow, Owlchemy Labs revealed its follow-up to its 2016 VR hit, Job Simulator.

Vacation Simulator features the same visual style, comedic narration, and level of interactivity as its predecessor.

The game will send you to a beach resort, but it’s unclear how much you will be able to unwind after performing all of those everyday tasks since the computers still nag you.

CEO of Owlchemy Labs Alex Schwartz aptly described the reasoning behind the sequel.

Pokémon Uranium is one of the Nintendo-themed fan games that is no longer being considered for The Game Awards.

A pair of fan-made games based on popular Nintendo properties have apparently had their nominations for the upcoming Game Awards show revoked.

Both Pokémon Uranium and Another Metroid 2 Remake AM2R were initially listed as nominees in the award show's "Best Fan Creation" category.

Those titles have now been removed from the nominees list on The Game Awards website, leaving only Brutal Doom 64 and Enderal: The Shards of Orde to contest the category here's the original nominee listing, courtesy of Polygon .

Nintendo told Ars we could "get in touch with the folks at The Game Awards" for comment, and representatives from the awards haven't responded to a request for comment.

But Nintendo has taken action against these fan creations in the past.

Fortnite is reaching the end of Season 6, and with the start of Season 7 later this week, we’re sure to get plenty of bizarre surprises.

In keeping with the game’s topical approach to seasons, which has included special Halloween gear in the past, Season 7 will be as chilly as the current weather.

The official Fortnite Twitter account posted a tease for Season 7, which showed a shadowy figure made of ice, on December 3.

It appears to be wearing a crown, also made of ice and meant to resemble antlers.
