Fossil knows what it’s doing when it comes to smartwatches, a point proven with its newest Q Explorist HR and Q Venture HR models, which combine plenty of technology with strong designs that retain the iconic Fossil look.

These new fourth-generation watches fix one of the issues we had with the older Q Explorist, and with other similar smartwatches — they didn’t quite have the tech ability to replace a good fitness tracker.

It’s all in the design and style.

The Q Explorist is the larger of the two watches with a 45mm stainless steel case and a 22mm strap size, while the smaller Q Venture HR has a 40mm case and an 18mm strap.

There are five different designs for the Q Venture HR, with stainless steel or gold bodies and leather or metal link straps, or four different Q Explorist HR designs to choose from.

Each watch has an extensive collection of more than 36 different watch faces to customize the look.

The Hu39 is a watch made by TRIWA with the melted metals of illegal firearms: Humanium Metal.

Here the medium is the message, and the message is that firearms are more valuable (and far less dangerous) to humanity melted-down than they are active.

Plus the watch looks real nice, too.

We’ve got a couple of companies at work here.

One is TRIWA, creators of fine watches and designer of the Hu39 and Hu34.

The version we’ve got is one of four: there’s also a Hu39L (L for light, D for dark), and a Hu34D and Hu34L.

After all, if you haven’t documented what you have, how can you know what to change and what impact this change will have on everything else?

The real challenge is less about how to move to Crown Hosting (or any other platform for that matter), but determining what specifically at the most granular level can and cannot be migrated.

Yes you read that right and these savings already factor in the costs of transition.

The CCS also points out that moving to Crown Hosting will help to reduce operational risk by hosting equipment in the improved environment of a dedicated data centre.

Yet, just as a traditional MOT may give you advisories about partially-worn tyres or misaligned steering, the Configuration Management MOT would also look at how things can be improved

Since it is no longer viable to try and manually document your infrastructure, as you can never keep up-to-date with complex infrastructure and the latest technologies, organisations use SACM Systems for the day-to-day documentation.

Emma Corrin has said she was “incredibly moved” by Prince Harry’s assessment of The Crown

The Duke Of Sussex was asked how he felt about the Netflix drama that depicts his family during an appearance on James Corden’s The Late Late Show last week.

“They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fictional,” Harry said. “But it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate, of course not, but loosely it gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.

“I’m way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family or my wife or myself. Because… that [The Crown] is obviously fiction, take it how you will. But this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”

Emma Corrin as Princess Diana in The Crown and Prince Harry

Emma – who plays Harry’s late mother Princess Diana in The Crown – was asked how she felt knowing the Duke had seen her portrayal, following her win at Sunday night’s Golden Globes.

She told the virtual press room: “It’s difficult because with The Crown, Peter [Morgan]’s version of The Crown, it is so fictional, and it feels so removed from the actual Royal family. So, on one level, I feel like it is so distant and feels so separate but on the other hand, obviously, the characters are based on real people and I would say there’s a responsibility to acknowledge them in some way.

“Certainly the way that he spoke about it, and the fact that he’s watched it and the fact that obviously I played his mother, and that would be such a sensitive thing.

“I was very moved by the fact that he acknowledged it. I’m incredibly grateful to him and incredibly moved by what he said.”

Prince Harry with Princess Diana in 1987

Gillian Anderson, who picked up Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series for her role as former UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, also said: “Harry is fairly well qualified to judge what is fact or fiction. He’s understood what [creator] Peter [Morgan] is trying to do on The Crown.”

Harry’s verdict of The Crown stood in contrast to that of his uncle, Earl Spencer, who criticised the show’s artistic licence.

Culture secretary Oliver Dowden is among those who think Netflix should be made to add a disclaimer to The Crown – an idea both Emma Corrin and co-star Josh O’Connor have spoken out against previously.

It will soon cost you more money to stream Netflix shows and movies like Stranger Things, The Crown and Bird Box.

The streaming service is rolling out double-digit increases to all of its monthly subscription plans, which will result in price hikes of $1 to $2 per month.

Netflix’s most popular plan, which allows high-definition streaming from up to two screens simultaneously, will jump 18 percent, from $11 a month to $13.

The basic plan, which offers one standard-definition stream, will increase 13 percent, from $8 to $9 per month.

And Netflix’s priciest plan, which allows for up to four 4K streams at once, will see a 14 percent price hike from $14 to $16.

The company noted that this is the first increase to its basic plan since it launched in 2010 and that the increases reflect the improvements it has made to its services, especially its investments in original content, which totaled $8 billion in 2018.

You know those ads where Brand A pokes fun at Brand B and thinks you'll definitely buy their product as a result?

Well, that's essentially where the BBC is right now after Director General Tony of Tony Hall openly took aim at Netflix's audience sizes.

Hall, speaking to a conference of media types, said:

"I mentioned the Bodyguard finale reaching 17 million viewers.

That was in one month.

In other words, "ner ner, our audiences are bigger than yours!".

It doesn't matter if your idea of a perfect burger is a double cheeseburger with bacon or a veggie burger with sprouts.

According to food bloggers, turning your burger upside-down before you chow down is the best method of eating it.

One of the main reasons for this flip-side way of eating a burger is that the crown, or top of the bun, is usually thicker than the bottom, or heel.

The thicker, top part of the burger bun, food experts say, can better withstand all the meat and vegetable juices and condiments than the thinner bottom of the bun that gets soggier more quickly.

"The crown will then hold the weight of everything else, and there is less likelihood of it falling apart in your hands," Simon Dukes, founder of the Burger Lad blog told Business Insider Friday.

"A true burger connoisseur should always eat their burgers upside down."

Shares in Netflix fell as much as five per cent in after-hours trading last night, after the streaming giant missed analyst estimates on revenue and paid subscriber growth.

Netflix reported $4.19bn in revenue for the three months to the end of December last year, narrowly missing the $4.21bn predicted by consensus estimates, as collated by S Global Market Intelligence.

It added a record 8.84m paid subscribers globally in its fourth quarter, but failed to meet analyst expectations of 9.18m additions.

Netflix said it expects to add 8.9m subscribers in its current quarter, after having raised prices for its subscription packages in the US earlier this month by as much as 18 per cent.

However investor fears were mitigated as it raked in earnings before tax of $119.4m, beating expectations of $105.1m by more than 13 per cent.

Much of Netflix's growth has been fuelled by its heavy investment into producing original content, including award-winning shows such as The Crown, Stranger Things and Bird Box.

Your next Netflix binge-watching session might be interrupted with a video advert for one of Netflix's own shows, as the video streaming platform has confirmed it's testing the idea with a limited number of users.

Reports on Reddit explain how it works.

As you finish one episode and wait for the next one to buffer up, Netflix will serve up a trailer for one of its own programs – something like Orange is the New Black or The Crown that Netflix has funded directly rather than licensing from elsewhere.

After you've sat through the promo, your binge-watching continues.

As yet there's no indication as to if or when the ads will roll out to everyone, or how many people are in the trial (though it seems to be live in several countries).

"We are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster," Netflix told Ars Technica in a statement as it confirmed that a test for video adverts was indeed underway.

Though Matt Smith was recently spending time playing royalty in Netflix’s The Crown, he’s headed back to genre territory soon.

Just maybe not in the project you were hoping to see him in.

In an interview with the LA Times, Smith seemingly denied having a role in the recently-wrapped Star Wars: Episode IX.

The original casting report was from Variety which stated it would be a “key role” for the British actor.

But he says, “As far as I can tell, I’m definitely not [in it].”

So, do you believe him?

The Crown stars Matt Smith and Tobias Menzies have paid tribute to the Duke Of Edinburgh, following his death at the age of 99.

Both actors have portrayed Prince Philip in the hit Netflix drama, which is based on the lives of the royal family.

Former Doctor Who star Matt, who played Philip in the first two series opposite Claire Foy as the Queen, described the Duke as “the man” in a statement.

Matt Smith as Prince Philip in The Crown

He said: “I’d like to offer my condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.

“Prince Philip was the man. And he knew it. 99 and out, but what an innings. And what style.

“Thank you for your service old chap – it won’t be the same without you.”

Matt was replaced in The Crown by Tobias for series three and four, opposite Olivia Colman as the Queen.

Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip

Tobias wrote on Twitter: “If I know anything about the Duke of Edinburgh I’m fairly sure he wouldn’t want an actor who portrayed him on TV giving their opinion on his life, so I’ll leave it to Shakespeare.

“‘O good old man! how well in thee appears. The constant service of the antique world…’ RIP.”

A statement from the show, written by Peter Morgan, said: “Netflix, Left Bank Pictures, Sony Pictures Television and the production team on The Crown are deeply saddened to hear of the death of The Duke of Edinburgh.

“Our thoughts are with the royal family at this sad time.”

Oscar nominee Jonathan Pryce will take over the role of the Duke of Edinburgh for the fifth and six series of the show, which will be the last.

He will star opposite Imelda Staunton as the Queen.

If you’re already resentful of online dating culture and how it turned finding companionship into a game, you may not be quite ready for this: Crown, a new dating app that actually turns getting matches into a game.

Crown is the latest project to launch from Match Group, the operator of a number of dating sites and apps including Match, Tinder, Plenty of Fish, OK Cupid, and others.

The app was thought up by Match Product Manager Patricia Parker, who understands first-hand both the challenges and the benefits of online dating – Parker met her husband online, so has direct experience in the world of online dating.

Crown won Match Group’s internal “ideathon,” and was then developed in-house by a team of millennial women, with a goal of serving women’s needs in particular.

The main problem Crown is trying to solve is the cognitive overload of using dating apps.

As Match Group scientific advisor Dr. Helen Fisher explained a few years ago to Wired, dating apps can become addictive because there’s so much choice.

Netflix may have finally broken into the last area of Hollywood it has yet to conquer: the Oscars.

This Sunday, Netflix won multiple Oscars as the awards ceremony stretched on, with Alfonso Cuarón winning for Roma's directing and its cinematography, and Roma itself winning foreign language film.

End of Sentence also won in the documentary short category.

Of Netflix's 15 nominations, other contenders bested the streaming giant in different categories, including Roma's nominations for leading actress, supporting actress, production design, sound editing, sound mixing and original screenplay, as well as The Ballad of Buster Scruggs' nominations for costume design, original song and adapted screenplay.

Netflix had a second nominee, End Game, in the documentary short category that lost out to its Period.

Even without a best picture Oscar, the victories marked a big night for Netflix.
