Whistle has launched a new wearable for pets that owners can use to track their furry friends’ whereabouts, health, and safety.

The Whistle Go and Whistle Go Explore wearables go beyond standard pet-tracking apps by adding health monitoring.

In a survey of 1,000 U.S. residents, nearly half of pet owners ranked their pet as a top three concern, while dog owners’ top-ranked concerns about their dogs, all tied at 18%, were running away, health, and safety.

The new trackers will keep pet owners connected all the time, with real-time location tracking and improved battery life.

“Whistle Go and Whistle Explore will provide pet owners a new window into their pet’s world by helping answer the top questions owners have regarding their pets, such as location, exercise, and health,” said Whistle CEO Collette Bunton in a statement.

“With the addition of groundbreaking health features, like itching and licking detection and sleep monitoring, Whistle has become an intelligent tool empowering pet owners with new insights that create awareness around our pets’ health and well-being.”

That moment when you realize your pet is missing is one of the worst feelings for a pet owner.

Whistle makes products to help people monitor their pets locations so, hopefully, they ll never have to deal with the scary realization that their pet is lost.

Whistle s earlier products monitor pet exercise or track location, but the Whistle 3 combines continuous location tracking with upgraded activity monitoring.

Until Whistle entered the market, pet-loss interventions and preventative care was a system of hoping for the best without much reliable information about your pet s specific needs.

Even today, you re likely to find pet-loss fliers posted nearby, said Ben Jacobs, CEO and co-founder of Whistle.

The Whistle 3 employs a new, multimodal wireless infrastructure that uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and GPS radio for faster, more accurate location tracking if pets escape, get lost, or are stolen.

The four Swedish doctor who blew the whistle on the forskningsfuskande doctor Paolo Macchiarini has been rewarded for the daring blow in the whistle.

On Wednesday they received a prize of the American surgical association during the current Kirurgveckan in Malmö, Sydsvenskan writes.

We want to honor the courage and strength that you showed as whistle-blowers , it is in the association's justification.

One of the four doctors, Karl-Henrik Grinnemo, tells us that man can risk his career by beating the alarm about cheating.

" Are there any who are looking to become whistle-blowers, so consider once more.

And don't forget to pay the membership fee to the union.

A survival whistle is a must in any good bug out bag, but if you don t have one, or you re stuck without a way to signal to others where you are, a soup can lid will do the trick.

This video from Specific Love Creations shows you how to make one, even if you need to open a can to do it.

Of course, if you re wandering through the woods, a can of soup may not be terribly common, but you may find an empty can somewhere with one side still on that you can use for this.

If you have to open a full can, the video shows you how to do that with a flat surface, like a rock or concrete, easily.

Once you have the can lid off, bend it in half, not all the way, and be careful since the edges will likely be sharp.

Puncture a hole in both sides with a nail or any other sharp object you happen to find, pry the lid open about 30 degrees, and of course, watch out for the side the nail pushed through, since that s the side that needs to face up when you put it into your mouth.

While initially focusing on activity and GPS tracking, Whistle’s latest lineup of trackers — the Whistle Go and Whistle Go Explore — can also monitor changes in health, offering up pet owners more options for preventative care.

The dog needs to wear the tracker for at least two weeks, and then the data can show changes in sleep, licking, scratching, and more, and can alert pet owners.

Both trackers attach to a dog’s collar or harness, and they require a Whistle subscription plan, which starts at $6.95 a month.

The plan is what enables cellular coverage, which is powered by AT, and it’s what allows you to track your dog via GPS.

I tested the Whistle Go Explore specifically, but you should have a similar experience with the Whistle Go, minus the improved battery life and water resistance.

You’ll need to take it off after some time to charge it up, as there’s a Micro USB port on the tracker.

More Gen Zers and millennials are using their phones as a primary mobile viewing device.

But there are marked differences in their content viewing habits, according to Whistle Wise.

The data arm of the Gen Z media brand Whistle found 62% of Gen Zers prefer a daily hit from their Instagram feed, while 65% of millennials are streaming Facebook video every day.

In today’s crowded marketplace, brands are becoming increasingly competitive about engaging with younger customers on a deeper level.

Publishers can continue to produce and distribute platform-specific content that meets the on-the-go audience where they are watching.

“The data illustrates unique platform viewership by generation, thus giving creators, brands and marketers information they need to authentically engage with as many target consumers as possible,” said Tommy Walters, insights analyst at Whistle.

In the 1990s, archaeologists in Mexico City unearthed a 500-year-old skeleton near an ancient Aztec temple — a victim of human sacrifice.

A grisly discovery, yes, but perhaps even more chilling was what the beheaded skeleton was holding: two small whistles, one in the shape of a skull.

When a researcher blew into one of the tiny instruments, the horrifying sounds that emerged immediately captivated imaginations.

One scholar described the noise as “a shriek of death.”

The dreadful, high-pitched sound of the whistle is perhaps most comparable to a human scream.

“There are different air streams generated within the structure of these instruments, which then diametrically hits against each other,” said Arnd Adje Both, a music archaeologist who has examined the whistle.

John Draper, a legendary “phone phreaker” known as Cap’n Crunch, had surgery last week to deal with a degenerative spine disease, and his friends are raising money on GoFundMe for the medical bills.Draper worked with others in the late 1960s to hack the AT phone system, using a toy whistle that came from a Cap’n Crunch cereal box.

The whistle emitted a tone at 2600 hertz, which happened to be the same one that AT used to reset its phone lines.Draper became famous for the stunt, and he became known by the Cap’n Crunch alias.

His efforts were the beginning of the anti-establishment culture that grew up around computer hacking.

He was profiled in Esquire magazine in 1971, and that article inspired Steve Wozniak to invite Draper for a meeting.

Draper showed up at Wozniak’s dorm room and taught him and his friend Steve Jobs how to build a “blue box,” or a device that would hack the network and give the owner free phone calls.“If you entered that start tone, it worked everywhere,” he said in the video below.

“It was not like a fluke in a local exchange.”Wozniak and Jobs later went on to found Apple computer.
