Withings had some name-brand recognition for its solid connected health devices.

You'll now have to remember them as Nokia products.

Nokia acquired health-and-fitness technology company Withings last year, and the company didn’t make a final decision on which brand name it would use for the Withings product line until now.

All existing and future Withings products will be sold under the Nokia brand, starting this summer.

This applies to Withings’ smart scales, trackers, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, home cameras, and more.

Withings’ HealthMate companion application for a lot of these products is also getting a redesign, and it will be two words now: Health Mate.

The Withings Steel HR Sport is a hybrid analog/digital smartwatch with a focus on activity tracking.

If the headline of this article confuses you, here’s a refresher: the Withings brand of smartwatches came rushing out of the gate a few years ago, earning high praise for its simple-yet-functional designs.

However, things didn’t go so well, and Nokia ended up selling the company after losing millions.

One of the co-founders of the original Withings brand.

In other words, Withings just went full circle from Withings to Nokia and back again.

Fans of the Withings Steel line (or Nokia Steel line, naturally) will feel right at home with the Steel HR Sport, as it looks and functions much like the previous models.

Now, Withings and its app have been officially re-branded under the Nokia umbrella.

What it basically means is that previous Withings products will now be labeled as Nokia ones, and a new Nokia Health Mate app will replace the Withings Health Mate one.

In case you're curious, we'll break down what it all means.

Will the new Nokia products be the same as the old Withings?

It seems like it, for the most part.

French fitness tech company Withings makes a line of Activité activity trackers that look like classic analog watches.

I m a big fan, particularly of the Steel version, which ties in the Withings Health Mate dashboard on your phone and the Withings Bluetooth scale for surprisingly high-tech overview of your health.

Withings is bumping up the prowess of its analog activity trackers with the launch of the Steel HR smartwatch.

Like the Activité lineup, the Steel HR looks like an analog watch with a small subdial that shows how close you are to reaching your daily step count goal.

But Withings packed a heart rate sensor into its new tracker for continous heart rate monitoring during workouts, resting heart rate during sleep, and a daily overview of your heart health.

The sensor will automatically kick in when you go running.
