Don't Expect Too Many Spoilers From the Merch

The Source: Executives from Hasbro and Lucasfilm

Probability of Accuracy: For good reasons, this one is on target.

But if the livestreamed product reveal and amount of merch in stores seems somewhat underwhelming, there's a reason for that.

Mike Ballog, head of global marketing at Hasbro, told CinemaBlend, "We have clear conversations about what can come out when, and what needs to stay under wraps.

At least from a Hasbro stand point, the product on display is maybe 30 to 35 percent of our full line."

We only have to wait about six weeks until the next Star Wars episode will hit theaters.

The Last Jedi launches in mid-December, just like The Force Awakens a couple of years ago.

And we have so many questions that need answers.

This brings us to Adam Driver, who plays the brand new Star Wars villain, and who’s apparently ready to share with the world a significant spoiler.

The Dark Side apparently got to him, but you can avoid reading about this massive revelation by stopping right here.

In an interview with GQ Magazine the actor talked about a bunch of Star Wars things, including his character, the Han Solo murder and Carrie Fisher.

p Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

The trouble is that people's imaginations often work in linear ways.

And there, at the very top of the list titled "Names that increased in popularity from 2015 to 2016" was, um, Kylo.

It shot up from being the 2,368th most popular to position 901.

It doesn't take a leap of the mind to work out where this trend came from.

Surely these are parents paying homage to Kylo Ren, he who made a temporary switch from being the slightly mad one in "Girls" to the slightly mad one in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

One of the biggest surprise reveals of IFA 2017 (for me at least) was Lenovo's Star Wars-themes AR headset, which lets you fight a real life lightsbaer battle against Kylo Ren.

It took some getting used to, but for the most part I found it to be an enjoyable experience.

Well now that headset is available to pre-order...

In the United Arab Emirates.

Yes, yes, being available in the UAE isn't the same as being available here, but if pre-orders have opened in one country they should be hitting the rest of the Star Wars-loving world fairly soon.

The headset is 1,199 AED, which is around £247.

Huawei has published two of founder Ren Zhengfei’s internal speeches after rumors of staff cuts generated heated debate online.

Ren responded to the rumors and explained that Huawei will undergo “human resources reform.” Many see this as a move to cut costs as the technology giant’s operating margin has been decreasing, falling from 12.2% in 2013 to 11.6% in 2015.The rumors began to circulate earlier this year after former employees left comments on the Huawei public WeChat account HWxinsheng (华为心声 or “Huawei thoughts” in English) alleging that the Chinese conglomerate was going to let go delivery engineers older than 34 and research staff older than 40.

The comments have since been deleted.

In Ren’s most recently published speech, he expressed determination to see Huawei reform its human resource structure.Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei.

China s shopping spree of premium Western brands continues and not just footballers.

Unusually the Lab agreement was signed by Mr Ren himself, as Huawei s 71-year-old founder Ren Zhengfei is known.

In 2011, The Economist called Zhenfei the most reclusive boss in the technology industry, and he only gave his first interview in 2013.

Many important functions are performed by his three rotating CEOs , each of whom takes turns to run the 160,000-plus company.

Leica s brand gives Huawei the credibility and brand recognition it needs to compete with Samsung, the only remaining Android phone maker which is actually making any money.

Huawei s need for such an initiative indicates that isn t merely content with competing on price: it wants at least some of the fat margins that Samsung s smartphone division enjoyed for a few years, too.

Huawei’s President Ren Zhengfei recently disclosed that the company shipped 153 million smartphones in 2017 which is a 10% rise from 2016’s figure.

This year, Huawei is seeking to increase its shipments and it appears that its strategy will be to concentrate on the low-budget market.

Mr. Zhengfei said at an internal meeting that the global market will be better tapped if the company focusses on low-end smartphones.

“It is important to use low-priced products to defend our high-end smartphone market to make more profits.

Low-end smartphones meet the needs of the general public, accounting for 95 percent of the total consumers in the world,”

In order to create a balance, Mr. Zhengfei believes that the low-end products will defend its high-end smartphones and more profit will be accrued.

Star Wars statistics, admittedly, can be kind of boring—that is, unless they’re so batshit that you wonder what the hell is even happening.

According to this latest gem of a survey, not only is Jar Jar Binks more popular than Kylo Ren but apparently, people prefer a giant slug monster over literally every character in the new franchise.

What’s wrong with you people?

Morning Consult has released the results of a survey where 2,200 people were asked how much they liked different characters in the Star Wars universe.

It’s nice to see Princess Leia was the most-beloved character, with 73 per cent of people having a “favourable” impression of her.

But the rest of it, let’s be honest, doesn’t make any goddamn sense.

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is one of the most successful smartphone manufacturing companies in recent time.

Earlier this year, its president, Ren Zhengfei said that the company will concentrate on mid-range and low-end devices in 2018 because 90% of the total global consumers rely on low-end smartphones.

Now, the company seems to be doing just that by releasing a powerful mid-range smartphone – Huawei Y9 (2018).

There are a couple of points on this device that makes it a little more than a mid-range smartphone, it is powered by a huge 4000 mAh battery which is rarely seen on mid-range devices.

As of now, this smartphone has been released in Thailand but its most likely that it will penetrate other regions soon.

There is no information on its pricing but rumors have it that the Y9 (2018) which is available in black, blue and gold will sell for about €200 ($247).

Huawei’s founder has come out fighting against the U.S. government after he claimed that “there’s no way the U.S. can crush us.”

Ren Zhengfei, who founded the telecom company in 1987, doesn’t often make public statements, but, in a rare interview with the BBC, he defiantly claimed that Huawei’s business is growing stronger amid pressure from the U.S. government, which is pursuing criminal charges over alleged business dealings in Iran.

Under those charges, CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested during a trip to Canada.

“The world needs Huawei because we are more advanced.

Even if they persuade more countries not to use us temporarily, we could just scale things down a little bit,” Ren told the BBC via a translator.

“Because the U.S. keeps targeting us and finding fault with us, it has forced us to improve our products and services.”

Senior Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou is suing Canadian authorities for illegally holding her and interrogating her for three hours before her arrest at Vancouver International Airport in December.

The chief financial officer of the Chinese telecoms giant is facing extradition to the US to face accusations of sanctions busting.

The lawsuit, filed on Friday according to reports, alleges Canadian authorities held her on the pretext of a routine immigration stop.

This allegedly allowed them to interrogate her for three hours and search her luggage and electronic devices without allowing her access to a lawyer or other rights that are triggered when a suspect is arrested.

This was “a deliberate and premeditated effort on the part of the defendant officers to obtain evidence and information from the plaintiff in a manner which they knew constituted serious violations of the plaintiff’s rights,” according to the suit.

Defend your smartphone from voice impersonators gaining access to your bank account.

It's a lot easier to talk to a smartphone than to try to type instructions on its keyboard.

This is particularly true when a person is trying to log in to a device or a system: Few people would choose to type a long, complex secure password if the alternative were to just say a few words and be authenticated with their voice.

The most common methods for securing voice-based authentication involve only ensuring that analysis of a spoken passphrase is not tampered with; they securely store the passphrase and the authorised user's voiceprint in an encrypted database.

Fortunately, there are automatic speaker verification systems that can detect human imitation.

Conventional speakers contain magnets, which vibrate back and forth according to fluctuations of electrical or digital signals, converting them into sound waves in the air.
