A little less than a month ago, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 855+, a revised and corrected version – or better to say overclocked – of the chip that animated almost all top-end smartphones of the first half of 2019.

Many of the manufacturers will adopt it for the last devices of this year, but in 2020 the score will change and the new melody will respond to the name of Snapdragon 865.

However, the next-generation SoC seems to be already well underway in its development process.

Given that an alleged first test concerning it has just leaked into the network.

In fact, on Geekbench, the Snapdragon 865 has started to show what it is made of, regulating the entire current competition in multi-core, the result is an excellent score of 12946.

Even the Apple A12 Bionic chip, so far a reference point in the mobile sector, has managed to put it in difficulty, remaining at almost 2 thousand points behind.

Samsung has made a mistake in the promotional campaign for its brand new Galaxy Note 10.

The Korean giant has in fact exaggerated in a detail about its new phones.

In fact, during a promotional video – now removed and then republished in the correct version – you can find it at the end of the article – Samsung initially boasted that the frame of the Galaxy Note 10 was made of stainless steel, based on what Apple has been doing since iPhone X.

We do not know if it was a misunderstanding of communication between the various offices within Samsung, or if the initial design of the Galaxy Note 10 really provided for the use of steel for the frame.

Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ specifications

Note10 – 6.3-inch FHD+ (2280×1080 pixels) Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with 401ppi, HDR10+, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

The newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is the latest top-of-the-line flagship handset in the Note family.

It has lots of high-end features, including a huge screen, plenty of RAM and onboard storage, an embedded stylus, and much more.

Let’s compare the specs and price of the Note 10 Plus with the Apple iPhone XS Max.

The Galaxy Note 10 Plus is almost as large as the Galaxy S10 5G, which was first released just a few months ago in May 2019.

The screen itself is a huge 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with 498ppi and a resolution of 3,040 x 1,440.

The Note 10 Plus’ other hardware features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP68 rating, and a way to access Samsung’s digital assistant Bixby directly from its power button.

Xiaomi’s extensive lineup of budget smartphones is soon going to get a new member with the Mi A3.

This Android One device could launch in India as soon as August 23.

In 2017, Xiaomi surprised the world by unveiling a smartphone that ran on stock Android instead of MiUI.

Come 2019, we have the all-new Mi A3 ready to make its way to India.

For the uninitiated, the Mi A3 is a rebranded Mi CC9e that was unveiled in China recently.

Since the device is already launched in China and a few European markets, we already know most of what to expect from this device.

Apple and Samsung may have taken over the high-end market with the latest release of their flagship models (iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy S10), but the Moto G series is the midrange market’s gamechanger.

Catch the Motorolla Moto G6 at its most affordable price yet with Amazon’s 42% price cut.

Whether you’re buying a phone for your kiddo, or just finding cost-saving alternatives, Motorola’s Moto G6 is a competent budget-friendly smartphone with acceptable performance, decent power, and capable cameras.

It may not be lauded for its durability but a Moto G6 case may just be the extra layer of protection it needs.

Compared to its previous generations and other phones within its class, the G6 proves to be visually appealing with relatively small bezels, a fingerprint sensor right below its screen, and a beautiful curved glass back.

Its 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen flaunts a 18:9 aspect ratio along with a 2,160 x 1,080 pixel resolution that makes for vibrant picture quality with vivid colors and pleasant tones.

Apart from their size, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus look nearly identical.

The smaller Note 10 is Samsung's first attempt to make its Note phones appeal to smartphone users who prefer smaller phones.

Samsung's Galaxy Note phones are typically known for their giant screens, but the company's done something different with the new Galaxy Note 10.

Check out the differences between the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus:

Here are the dimensions and weight of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus:

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has only just been announced and – in some regions at least – it uses the brand-new Exynos 9825, but an even newer and likely even more powerful chipset has just been benchmarked.

Listed on Geekbench as the Qualcomm Kona, this is listed as an octa-core chipset with a base frequency of 1.8GHz (meaning some cores are likely faster), and the scores achieved suggest this is the Snapdragon 865 (or whatever it launches as), which is the chipset we’re expecting to replace the Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855 Plus.

Said chipset would likely power many of 2020’s top flagships, including the US version of the Samsung Galaxy S11, and based on the scores we’re seeing here that would be no bad thing.

The mystery chipset achieves a single-core score of 4,149 and a multi-core one of 12,915.

To put that into perspective, in our own tests the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus using the Snapdragon 855 achieved a multi-core score of 11,002, while the iPhone XS scored 11,481.

So this score is substantially higher than two of the most powerful phones around.

Qualcomm might be a contender in the mobile space, but Always Connected Windows laptops powered by Snapdragon 835 and 850 chips have seen mixed results.

Both Intel’s and Qualcomm’s chips combine CPU and GPU cores on a single die, so we’ll look at the performance of each segment of the chips individually and consider their cost and efficiency too.

That means it has eight cores to work with, four of which will be lower-power and operate when efficiency is more important than performance.

That may have been evidenced during a graphics test at Computex, which saw the Intel 8250U maintain a greater CPU score than the Snapdragon part, despite seemingly weaker performance in more productivity-focused tasks.

That’s a more than 20 percent uplift in performance for the Snapdragon SoC and equates to an FPS difference of 29 FPS for the Intel chip (at best), versus the Snapdragon’s 37 FPS.

One of the concerns with Microsoft’s “Always Connected” PC style is the lack of native applications for the Qualcomm hardware under the hood.

For a long time, Samsung launches two flagship models in each half of the year.

The Galaxy S line smartphones hit the market in the first half, while the Galaxy Note phones come in the second half.

Say, the more compact version sports a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen, while its sibling features a larger screen of 6.8 inches.

But on the other hand, they have got a new breath.

These colors are common for both models.

The front camera is placed in a hole, which is placed in the upper middle area of the screen.

Samsung always has a few surprises planned for its big launch events, so after announcing the new Galaxy Note 10, Samsung announced an ARM-based laptop with built-in LTE connectivity and a claim of a whopping 23-hours of battery life.

The Galaxy Book S looks to deliver a streamlined computing experience for people constantly on the go.

Like the previous Galaxy Book 2, Samsung’s new laptop runs Windows 10, and instead of a processor from Intel or AMD, the Galaxy Book S comes with a Snapdragon 8cx chip from Qualcomm.

Additionally, the Galaxy Book S includes a 13-inch full HD screen, a slim profile, USB-C charging, AKG stereo speakers, and a silent, fanless design.

As for specs, we’re looking at 8GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and 802.11ac wi-fi.

Samsung says the Galaxy Book S was also created to deliver a more mobile-friendly computing experience with touch-to-wake features and nearly instant power on times.

Pretty much all of the Pixel 3’s hardware specs were leaked well before its launch last year.

Google tried to get ahead of the story for its next phone by posting photos of the upcoming Pixel 4 in June, far ahead of its official unveiling.

But alas, it couldn’t prevent the handset’s specs from leaking out.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the search giant’s next phone will have a 90Hz display and a bump up to 6GB of RAM.

Last month, Google posted a video that confirmed the phone will have face unlock capabilities along with the capability to control it with hand gestures, thanks to Soli radar chip.

However, the new leak spills the beans on all the other aspects of the phone.

Samsung laptops have never caught on in the states quite like they have elsewhere, but the company hasn’t stopped trying.

Its newest laptop is called the Galaxy Book S, and it was announced live at the Samsung Unpacked press event, alongside the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus, on August 7.

The Galaxy Book S is a new laptop design with a slim profile, thin bezels, and spacious touchpad.

Samsung laptops in the past have been known for super-lightweight designs, so we expect the Galaxy Book S to continue that tradition.

In addition to a microSD card slot, the Galaxy Book S will include two USB-C ports — one on each side.

These are not, of course, Thunderbolt 3, as that is an Intel technology.

Despite some hardware launch delays Samsung had been experiencing this year, the company is pushing forward with its annual Note upgrade.

Both phones come with increased batteries, Dynamic AMOLED displays, in-screen fingerprint sensors, wireless charging, and three cameras in the back for regular / wide-angle and telephoto.

The regular Note 10 — still bigger than the S10 — is now the smaller device with a 6.3-inch screen, while the Note 10 Plus measures in at 6.8 inches.

The Notes also come in super fun colors, including a special edition that has an iridescent finish, which lots of phone makers have been using in recent years.

Now in the Game Launcher on the device, users can automatically connect to Discord to chat with friends.

Both devices are available for preorder at midnight starting at $949 and $1,099 for the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, respectively.

Samsung laptops don’t have much prestige in my book.

Despite the gains the company has made on the mobile front, its laptops have always underwhelmed me over the years.

The new Galaxy Book S, though?

It’s just another clamshell laptop that could be mistaken for a Surface Laptop or MacBook Air if you didn’t know better.

It has a full-size keyboard, a spacious touchpad, and insanely long battery life (23 hours, as claimed by Samsung).

But the real reason I’m interested in the Galaxy Book S goes beyond just what your fingers can touch.

The first laptop with Qualcomm’s 8-core Snapdragon 8cx processor is Samsung’s Galaxy Book S, and if Samsung’s claims hold up, this could be the Windows laptop to buy for people who find themselves often working out of the back of a cab.

Samsung said it’s a “premium anodized aluminum frame on the top and base,” but it feels a bit plasticky and cheap.

It resembles a Surface Laptop 2, which is a good thing, because it looks sleek and modern.

The screen resolution is 1,920 x 1,080, and it looks sharp, though it didn’t get as bright as I would have liked.

It is a touch screen, and Samsung said you can wake the device with a quick tap, just like a smartphone.

Previous attempts at implementing Qualcomm ARM chips in laptops have resulted in poor performance, but the 8cx aims to correct that.
