Ireland head into the World Cup with plenty of work to do following an underwhelming Six Nations campaign in which they finished third.

While Italy coach Conor O'Shea has an even bigger task ahead.

Now's the time to pick things up and you can live stream Ireland vs Italy - from absolutely anywhere - with the help of this handy guide.

Having beaten the All Blacks at the start of the year, the Irish had been installed as one of the favourites to take home the Webb Ellis Cup later this year, but recent defeats to England and Wales have tempered expectations somewhat.

Italy on the other hand have hinted that the side that plays today will likely closely resemble their first choice line up for the action in Japan.

Despite playing what a strong side, today's game looks like a daunting prospect for the Azzurri, particularly when taking into account that the Italians have lost their last eight encounters with the Irish.

One of two devices recently filed by Sonos with the FCC is a Bluetooth speaker, The Verge can confirm.

In the filing for product model S17, Sonos directly states that it’s “a high-performance wireless speaker and part of the Sonos sound system.

The device’s primary function will be for streaming with Wi-Fi, but also features Bluetooth audio streaming and Bluetooth Low Energy, used for simplified setup.” (Emphasis added by The Verge.)

No other previous Sonos speaker has supported Bluetooth music playback, though the Sonos One includes BLE for the same reason of easier setup.

The product label for S17 features a curved blue line running across it, which could be a reference to the speaker’s unique functionality in the Sonos lineup.

The filing also mentions that this unannounced Sonos product includes USB-C and an ethernet jack.

It was just a few months ago that I wrote about the Naim Mu-so 2, an update to one of the first high-end streaming speakers.

I’m currently in the process of testing that model, and it delivers remarkable sound quality in a soundbar-like body.

But for many spaces, it’s kind of overkill.

I’m just going to call it the Qb 2.

Naim is a premium audio company.

Like its bigger sibling, the Qb 2 can play music through Google Cast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Bluetooth (SBC/AAC), UPnP, and Roon.

If Ninja’s jump from Twitch to Mixer taught us anything, it’s that game streaming is big business.

People like to watch other people play games and this is something that’s been true since long before streaming video on the internet.

In some ways, Discord is returning to the roots of all that by rolling out game streaming on its own platform.

Don’t mistake this new Discord feature as a Twitch or YouTube competitor, because put simply, it isn’t.

Discord’s game streaming feature – dubbed “Go Live” – isn’t about streaming to the masses and making money.

Instead, it’s about letting your friends watch you play games as you all chat about what’s happening, just like the good old days (kind of).

Discord will launch a feature called Go Live for its desktop application on August 15th.

It will allow anybody with a PC to stream video of their game in any voice channel to up to 10 people at a time.

Go Live is intended to give people the feeling of gaming in a living room with your friends, and it shows.

It works based on Discord’s game detection, the same feature that shows your friends what you’re playing when you’re playing it.

The feature will work in any server, although fully boosted servers will have options for higher-quality streams and so will anyone with Nitro.

There’s no limit, server-wide, to how many people can go live.

It's easy to use, slick and fast on a variety of devices, and it supports up to six separate family member profiles.

And its channel selection is top-notch, including numerous cable stables and coverage of all four local networks (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) in most markets nationwide.

At $50, YouTube TV belongs among other premium services such as PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV and AT TV Now (formerly DirecTV Now), and yet it's better than all three.

At that price it may not actually save you much money over cable TV, however, especially if you have a good TV-plus-internet bundle from your current provider.

For cord cutters who want more savings in their live TV package, we recommend Sling TV instead at $25 monthly, making it our Editors' Choice as the best budget option.

YouTube TV offers a cable-TV-like experience through a variety of devices including Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Chromecast, numerous smart TVs, phones, tablets and web browsers.

Combining a technology platform to better track ownership rights and royalties of songs with a new approach to representing musicians in their careers, Kobalt has risen from the ashes of the 2000 dot-com bubble to become a major player in the streaming music era.

It is the leading alternative to incumbent music publishers (who represent songwriters) and is building a new model record label for the growing “middle class’ of musicians around the world who are stars within niche audiences.

Having predicted music’s digital upheaval early, Kobalt has taken off as streaming music has gone mainstream across the US, Europe, and East Asia.

In the final quarter of last year, it represented the artists behind 38 of the top 100 songs on U.S. radio.

Along the way, it has secured more than $200 million in venture funding from investors like GV, Balderton, and Michael Dell, and its valuation was last pegged at $800 million.

Kobalt Music Group now employs over 700 people in 14 offices, and GV partner Avid Larizadeh Duggan even left her firm to become Kobalt’s COO.

In a week or two, Google will be giving more details about its Stadia game streaming platform.

That definitely has its perks as well as its drawbacks but there is a sort of middle ground that’s being pushed by Valve and now Samsung in theory, offers the benefits of playing PC games on any device, though with some of its caveats.

Cloud Gaming: freedom at a price

On paper, the premise and promise of cloud-based game streaming is definitely enticing for gamers.

In practice, though, there are still a lot of pieces that need to fall into place to make that a viable future, and not all of them are technical.

There is, of course, the requirement for fast Internet connections, something that’s not available everywhere.

Streaming service Twitch is making it easier for anyone to stream on its platform via Twitch Studio, a streaming app that has arrived for beta testing.

Twitch describes the software as an all-in-one solution for new streams, simplifying the setup process and offering tools for engaging with viewers.

Streaming setups can range from simple to very complex, though the latter are typically reserved for full-time streamers who treat their channel as a job.

For those who are new to streaming, setting up one’s hardware and getting everything situated can be tricky.

The Twitch Studio app helps solve that by guiding users through the setup process, including making sure the microphone is active and adjusting the video’s white balance to ensure the picture is clear.

As well, users are given access to customizable templates for creating things like a ‘Be right back’ screen.

Naim Audio has introduced Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation, a relatively small all-in-one wireless speaker that brings ‘extensive’ hardware and software upgrades over the original model launched in 2016.

The unveiling follows Naim’s introduction of the Mu-so 2nd Generation speaker in May, a larger model with a similar design and functionality.

The Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation speaker is designed for streaming one’s own digital music library, content from streaming services like Spotify, and content airing on Internet radio stations.

The upgraded cube-shaped speaker features an illuminated volume dial, proximity sensor, and full set of controls.

The proximity sensor means the speaker’s dial lights up as the user reaches toward it.

In addition to playback controls, users have direct access to radio stations, playlists, and Spotify resume, among other things.

When you log into Netflix one of the first things you see is a list of recommended shows.

Sometimes its new episodes of shows you’ve liked and rated well.

And if you’re like me one of those shows that Netflix repeatedly suggests you watch is Anders Tangen’s Norsemen, a silly little sitcom revolving around ancient Vikings with seemingly modern problems.

There’s a reason Netflix suggests Norsemen even when there’s a new season of Derry Girls or She-Ra you’d like to be watching.

Netflix produces and/or has the exclusive US digital distribution rights to hundreds of shows.

According to Deadline the nature of Netflix’s contracts frequently means its impossible for even a popular Netflix show to get picked up elsewhere after cancellation.

When I finally got a hand-me-down sound system with an input, I immediately bought a huge aux cable I could plug into my laptop.

My first true(-ish) wireless system was a fourth-hand computer with a smattering of files I plugged into my hand-me-down stereo.

After that, Apple’s AirPlay system came along — a golden moment.

If you use iTunes or an iPhone, you can literally just select the compatible speaker on your network and it’ll send the music to it.

After that, I moved to an Apple TV 2, when the hardware series still had an optical audio output.

Things were far from perfect though.

Connected television and streaming platforms might offer new avenues to reach voters who are disillusioned with social media’s endless scandals or are tuning out of linear TV, according to a new report.

The study, conducted by programmatic platform Telaria and the Dish-owned OTT service Sling, surveyed 1,500 potential voters aged 18 to 29 nationwide to get their opinions on political messages delivered through different platforms.

Gen Z is consistently disconnecting from traditional networks that candidates typically use to reach their base and turning toward streaming to get the political intel they need before 2020.

“When you think about this particular age bracket—they’re either cord-cutters or cord-nevers,” explained Jennifer Catto, CMO of Telaria.

“And on the other side of that, they’re growing up in the age of fake news and [have] an inherent distrust of social media.”

Many political candidates still rely on linear television in the hopes of reaching—and swaying—a potential vote.

One of the more interesting news tidbits from yesterday’s Unpacked event got a bit drowned out in all of the noise.

Understandably so — Samsung jammed a lot into an event that ran just over an hour, virtually sprinting through a handful of gaming announcements.

The below video is the best demonstration we have of PlayGalaxy Link, a new feature that makes it possible to stream games directly from a PC to the Galaxy Note 10.

Why the company didn’t make a bigger deal of the feature is beyond me, but in an area when Apple and Google are really starting to get involved in gaming in earnest, Samsung really ought to have shone a bigger like light on the new offering.

From the sound of it, the feature will offer similarly to one that Microsoft has been working on for the Xbox, letting users stream games from their PC onto the mobile device, whether or not they’re on a shared WiFi.

The video showcases the connection, as a user links a Samsung Odyssey gaming laptop to a Note nestled inside a gamepad controller.

Martial arts hasn't had the best luck on the small screen.

After a not-yet-famous Bruce Lee appeared as high-kicking sidekick Kato on the short-lived 1960s series The Green Hornet, you can count the number of martial-arts series on two hands.

If you want to only count the good shows, go ahead and hold one of those hands behind your back.

And if you want to count just the good live-action shows, then feel free to chop a couple of fingers off the hand that's left.

There's Into the Badlands, which just finished a three-season run on AMC, and then ... hey, what's that over there?

(Probably not a good martial-arts show, whatever it is.)

3rd ODI Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad - Wednesday August 14

Each match starts at 09.30am local time.

So that's 7pm IST and 2.30pm BST.

India's tour of the West Indies, has so far been something of a stop start affair thanks to near relentless rain during its T20 stop offs in Florida and Guyana, with the second match decided by the dreaded Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method.

They helped create one of the most popular pieces of pop culture this century, and now they’re being rewarded with a nine-figure deal to produce even more projects for the best-known streaming service in the world.

Deadline reports that after weeks of courting by a total of six studios, Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B.

Weiss have signed a deal to develop, write, and direct TV and film exclusively for Netflix.

Exclusively...outside of that Star Wars movie they have lined up for 2022, of course, the first in a trilogy they are committed to writing and producing.

“We’ve had a beautiful run with HBO for more than a decade and we’re grateful to everyone there for always making us feel at home,” Benioff and Weiss said in a statement to Deadline.

“Over the past few months we’ve spent many hours talking to Cindy Holland and Peter Friedlander, as well as Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber.

According to Ofcom, speeds of 24Mbps are currently available to 94 per cent of premises.

Yet only 45 per cent have signed up, sticking with their poxy standard ADSL packages of around 11-12Mbps.

A survey of 3,000 customers by Which?

So if people can't be arsed to upgrade from creaking ADSL services to the much-derided "superfast" fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) speeds, why on earth are they going to bother with the far more expensive full-fibre speeds?

What I got, well... s'alright...

Dario Talmesio, who leads analyst Ovum's fixed and mobile European telecoms team, said: "Being able to watch Netflix at home seems to be everyone's go-to comparison, and yet the recommendation for that is just 5Mbps for HD."

Smart speakers are a hot topic these days and, unfortunately for their makers, not in a good way.

Almost all three of the big names have been dragged into controversy but the very first one to be named was Amazon and its Alexa assistant.

Given the heat, some might consider it bad timing to launch smart speakers using these AI assistants.

That’s not stopping cable provider Altice from announcing the Amplify home speaker.

For example, it offers hands-free voice control of set-top boxes, from Altice, of course.

Those include changing channels or even access to streaming apps like Netflix, provided they’re on the company’s Altice One platform.

In 2019 there are a plethora of TV and movie streaming choices, with plenty more on the way.

The good news is that bundles are quickly becoming the name of the game In fact, that’s pretty much one of the main selling points for the upcoming Apple TV Plus service.

Disney Plus-Hulu-ESPN Plus bundle: Price

Disney has confirmed that the price for signing up to the Disney Plus-Hulu-ESPN Plus bundle will be $12.99 a month.

Hulu is currently $5.99 a month (with ads), ESPN Plus costs $4.99 a month, and Disney is $6.99 — so you’re getting a total savings of $5.

There’s no such plan for Hulu at the moment, but ESPN Plus is available for an annual fee of $49.99, and Disney Plus will have a $69.99 yearly subscription option.
