Documentaries often dive deep into important parts of our history, from World War II battles to famous crimes.

But one upcoming documentary feature will examine a far lighter part of American history: the cultural impact of TV's Baywatch.

Yes, Baywatch, the 1989-2001 TV drama about beautiful and hunky lifeguards in red swimsuits, is getting the documentary treatment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

THR says filmmakers Matthew Felker and Brian Corso are making Baywatch: The Documentary, and will interview some of the show's biggest stars for the film, including David Hasselhoff and Nicole Eggert.

"I was coming of age when Baywatch was at its peak, so the Baywatch history is, in a lot of ways, also my history," Felker told the magazine, adding that he actually became an open-water lifeguard because of the show.

But wasn't the show best known for hot bods in tight red suits?

When you log into Netflix one of the first things you see is a list of recommended shows.

Sometimes its new episodes of shows you’ve liked and rated well.

And if you’re like me one of those shows that Netflix repeatedly suggests you watch is Anders Tangen’s Norsemen, a silly little sitcom revolving around ancient Vikings with seemingly modern problems.

There’s a reason Netflix suggests Norsemen even when there’s a new season of Derry Girls or She-Ra you’d like to be watching.

Netflix produces and/or has the exclusive US digital distribution rights to hundreds of shows.

According to Deadline the nature of Netflix’s contracts frequently means its impossible for even a popular Netflix show to get picked up elsewhere after cancellation.

This is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 and 10+

The landscape has changed dramatically since the Galaxy Note was first unveiled in 2011, with Samsung pulling the rest of the industry into a world of bigger screens.

Now, the question is how to make the latest updates compelling.

With the Note 10 and 10+ (available August 23 at a starting price of $950), Samsung is splitting the line into two distinct devices, and it’s getting rid of the headphone jack.

Dan Weiss and David Benioff, the duo behind HBO’s massive hit Game of Thrones, have reportedly struck a $200 million deal with Netflix.

The streaming company confirmed the deal — but not the financial details — on Thursday, saying the ‘master storytellers’ will create original movies and television shows for the service.

This is a multi-year deal that will require Benioff and Weiss to leave HBO.

News of the deal has been passed through The Hollywood Reporter, which claims that it got the $200 million figure from unnamed sources.

In a statement on the matter, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said, ‘We can’t wait to see what their imaginations will bring to our members.’

Benioff and Weiss released a joint statement on the new deal, praising their time at HBO and expressing excitement for their new home at Netflix.

As part of the deal, Benioff and Weiss will no longer be producing shows for HBO, where they were showrunners and writers on Game of Thrones for its entirety, and will work on projects exclusively for Netflix, with the exception of the two’s existing commitment to an ongoing multi-film deal with Disney for the Star Wars franchise.

We can’t wait to see what their imaginations will bring to our members,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, told THR.

In a joint statement, Benioff and Weiss thanked HBO, but naturally made no mention of the project Confederate, an alternative history show centered on a version of America in which the South won the Civil War and slavery persisted.

Many displeased fans saw a project helmed by two white men — creators with questionable track records regarding race and slavery on Game of Thrones — that would potentially treat American slavery as a form of titillating entertainment, instead of a structural force still very much embedded into modern politics and society.

HBO said in February of this year that Benioff and Weiss’ busy schedules, and not the controversy, was the culprit keeping the show from getting off the ground.

Yet now, it appears Confederate will not be getting made after all.
