The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Johor Bahru, the second largest city of Malaysia and one of the leading tourist attractions.
The temple was inherited by Sri Sinnathamby Sivasamy from his father and he remade the humble temple made of all glass with an inspiration from shine of glass artwork which he seen when he was riding in a tuk-tuk.
The whole temple complex is covered by 300,000 vivid and colorful glass pieces and the mosaic is adorned with thousands of beads made of glass, along with statues of Mother Teresa and Gautama Buddha.
Adorned in glass, the murals have some of the modern scenes of cross-faith love like one of Christian and Muslim helping Hindu who is in trouble and kindness.
There are crystal chandeliers which pass the light on pillars, doors, ceilings and walls in bright blaze which initially blinds.
A mosaic of over 300,000 pieces of blue, red, green, yellow, white and purple glass have embellished around 90% of temple structure.
