When you cannot receive emails from anyone or through specific senders, it’s due to an AOL issue.
And to fix this error:
Firstly, make sure you’ve upgraded from older AOL desktop to Desktop Gold. In case, you’re still using older Desktop version, it’s time to download Desktop gold and install it.
- Secondly, check that the person is using your correct email address. Followed by this, check if the mails are received in the spam folder.
- In case, the spam folder has the emails, shift them to inbox by selecting the “Not Spam” button.
- However, if none of the issues relates to your AOL mail problems then, most probably your AOL is rejecting/blocking those emails. So, re-configure your outgoing SMTP settings to resolve the issue.
For this, go to Account Properties -> Delivery Options tab-> Select Requires Authentication checkbox->click Setup button-> click OK to return on previous window.
Next, select the “Advanced” button to open email settings. Now, reconfigure the outgoing SMTP as follows:
IMAP server address: imap.aol.com
Username: Your AOL email address.
IMAP password: Your AOL Mail password
Port: 993
IMAP TLS/SSL required: yes
Enter the below-defined SMTP settings to combat ‘AOL blocking emails’ error.
Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com
SMTP Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com.
Port: 587
SMTP Username: Your AOL email address
SMTP password: AOL Mail password
After making necessary changes in AOL mail, in case the issue still persists, then go for advanced troubleshooting.
