How to Maintain Your Concrete or Exposed Aggregate Driveway

Driveways are an important aspect to our home and quite often, we forget about its upkeep until it has been overrun by weeds, riddled with oil stains, and cracks have started to appear.

Thankfully, one of the best attributes of concrete or exposed aggregate driveways is how little maintenance is required to keep it look fantastic all year round, and if laid correctly, can last several decades.

  1. Get rid of the oily stains right away.
Oil leaks can be a pain to get rid of if you do not try to clean them right away, all the more if it has been a while your concrete has been sealed. Try to mix warm water with house detergent, pour it over the stain and brush with a thick-bristled broom. If you can keep your car in the garage.
  2. Seal your driveway every two to 5 years/
it will help keep your aggregate in the same state as when you first got it.  Water and oil will have a harder time being absorbed.
  3. Get rid of weeds and leaves
Weeds are relentless and will find a way to grow even if the space between the blocks is small. Spray your driveway with vinegar and you will get a surprisingly clean result!
