7 Best Android 10 Features to Use on Pixel 4

Google has been rocking the industry with the latest operating system Android 10 alongside the release of flagships such s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. The devices came with the newest OS, which was later made available for the company’s older Pixel flagships.

Now more android devices are expected to come with Android 10. The official name for the OS was recently announced to be Android Q. Google continued its dessert naming pattern with Android Q as well, and the OS brought in a load of new functions and features.

The first beta for Android Q was released way back in March, and the results have been positive for the most part. Features such as enhanced privacy settings, full system navigation, Live caption, and Bubbles notification are just the tip of the iceberg.

Here are the best 7 Android 10 features you need to use on your Pixel 4

1- App removal can be undone now

If you have been using Android for a long time, then you must be guilty of accidentally removing an app. It is hard already to maintain the functions, but remembering all the shortcut icons on the home screen is even tougher.

So if you are sitting and scratching your head as to what app was removed from the home screen, then do not worry, we will help you figure it out. Android Q allows you to undo the app removal for a few seconds. The undo icon will appear on the bottom of your home screen. Tap on it and Viola; the app is back where it was.

2- Wi-FI QR Codes

Now you do not have to ask your friends for their Wi-Fi passwords. This does not mean that you do not need to have their consent, just that you would not have to type in the password to connect. Simply scans the QR code generated by the person and get connected immediately. To do so:

  • Open the Settings tab.
  • Locate Wi-Fi settings.
  • Choose a home network.
  • Now tap on the QR code above it.

3- Bubbles

If you have ever used Facebook Messenger, then you may be aware of the bubble notification feature. You know the small pop-up circle that could be placed on any part of the screen. You should only allow important apps to use Bubbles notifications, as a bunch of hovering notifications on your screen could create a mess.

4- Privacy Settings Tab

Now you get a dedicated Privacy section under the settings tab. If you open it, then you will be able to see the permissions you have allowed for the apps. It can vary from microphone, camera, location, contacts, and calendar.  With the newly added section, you can easily keep up and revoke the permissions for any app you deem unnecessary.

5- Location Control

Now you will be able to get an enhanced location control on your Android Q. Previously, you can only let any app gain location access every time or not at all. However, Android Q offers an option that enables you to access the location data only during app usage. It helps save battery life while enhances privacy as well.

6- Live Caption

Google has modified the Live Caption to make your devices more accessible than before. Currently, the feature is only available on the Pixel 4 series, but Goggle intends to release it for other Pixel devices as well. You can put live caption of any playing video without any internet connection.

  • Play any video and press the volume keys.
  • You will get a caption option at the bottom of the volume slider.
  • Tap on the option.
  • The caption can be dragged anywhere on the screen.

7- Modified Notifications Controls

Now you receive two options when you long-hold on an alert. You can either use Silent or Alerting. In case you opt Alerting, then the app will make notification with every new alert. However, choosing Silent would restrict the app from making any further sound. To avail the feature:

  • Launch the Settings tab.
  • Go to Apps and Notifications.
  • Locate and press Notifications.

All the features can improve your device accessibility while improving the user experience as well.
