Kefir is a cultured and fermented milk drink that is originally from the mountainous region that divides Asia and Europe.
The Kefir grains are not in the grain form it is in the form of the small gelatinous beads that look like the grains containing a variety of bacteria and yeast.
The grains are placed in the glass jar/bowl that is soaked in the milk covered and left at the room temperature for about 24 hours to get it fermented.
This enables the bacteria and yeast for the process to form the lactose into the lactic acid by activating the bacteria to grow. Then the Kefir grains are put at room temperature for 24 hours.
