Vanseller. Who's that?

In many of the well-known and lesser-known job portals you can find job advertisements for a vanseller position. Who is a vanseller and what his job is about you will find out from this article.

If you feel that direct selling is your strength, you like driving and are not afraid of hard work, start looking for Vanseller's job offers. He deals with nothing more than selling goods directly from the car. This form of work was already known in the Middle Ages as the mobile trade, when peasants were driving around towns and cities selling fruit and vegetables grown by them from carts.

What can we expect from a positive recruitment? A company car, mobile phone and PDA are the basic equipment of a vanseller, but each company has its own employment policy. Many of them, especially wholesalers or distributors, offer work only on a self-employed basis. This means that we operate on the basis of a cooperation agreement, without a basic salary, based on commissions alone. We have to worry about paying the costs of running a business, accounting, fuel costs - the car is leased, of course we pay it out of our pocket. If we are just beginning our adventure with this job, we have no contacts on the retail market, no experience and knowledge related to running a business, it is better not to risk it.

This is different for large producers. Here we can count on an employment contract with an interesting basic salary, sales commissions, bonuses for performing various tasks and numerous allowances.

Depending on the employer's product range, the cars that are used for the job are very different. From smaller cars (Peugeot Partner, Renault Kangoo) to larger Iveco Daily cars, etc. Some are equipped with a printer on which you can print the collected order in the shop, in other cases invoices are written by hand. Payment is charged immediately or during the next visit to the store. Vanseller, depending on the region in which it operates, must make a certain number of "visits" per day, determined in advance by the system or the person responsible for route planning. A visit is the time when the seller visits a shop, collects the order and delivers the goods from the car. During this time he should also take care of merchandising, i.e. presentation of goods on the shelves.

To sum up, working on this position is demanding, tiring and also gives a lot of satisfaction. It is not uncommon that when we leave the route at 6 a.m., we sit in front of our TV only in the evening. But thanks to this, we may be surprised after checking our balance at the end of the month...
