The World Bank Group has approved $50 million in immediate funding to support Kenya’s response to the global Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic under a new operation - the Kenya Covid -19 Emergency Response Project.
With the upsurge of the Covid-19 pandemic in Cameroon, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Japanese government have joined hands with other partners to intensify the fight against Covid-19 in the country.
UNICEF welcomes the latest contribution of over $2,300,000 from the Japanese government for the fight against the pandemic.Faced with the crisis, Japan believes that it is necessary to implement urgent measures that will protect life and minimise socio-economic impacts as well as strengthen health systems to fight against infectious diseases in the medium and long term.
