A Fine Balance – Prakriti Kakar

When we discuss a luscious voice, one name that always matches is Prakriti Kakar. Following the footprints of her elder sister Akriti, Prakriti has made fame within the playback singing beside her twin sister Sukriti. Exclusively for specific conversation with the Katra Katra singer at Hardrock cafe, Mumbai just before her gig. Excerpts from the interview:

Sukriti, Prakriti, and you're twins; did it occur anytime in childhood when people got misunderstood?

That still happens (laughs & smiles); it’s the symbol of being twins. We are often misunderstood for every other. There was always something super hilarious that wants to happen during school and college time and that we use to require advantage of being twins. In college, I want to mark presence on her behalf as there was one teacher who didn’t know that we were twins inside the classroom. We want to fool people all the time as we both looked an equivalent, but now consciously and deliberately we attempt to look different, our personalities are different.

Prakriti Kakar, How would you explain Ankit Tiwari’s participation in your musical profession?

Ankit may be a super special composer and an honest person. He’s the one who understood me before anyone. I owe my presentation hit song to him. it had been a memorable experience to sing Katra Katra with Ankit for ‘Alone starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover in 2015. That was the primary time I need to hear my voice, there was tons of discovery about my voice therein song. The reactions I buy from the song so far are overwhelming.

Prakriti Kakar, Your newest single ‘Sudhar ja’ deals with deception, what would you recommend to people that have known betrayed in life?

I think I'm too young to advise anyone about anything, but the fan base we've majorly consisted of young girls. Sudhar ja is an ode to all or any of those girls who are into relationships, a number of them aren't being so happy. The message within the song is for all those girls to be stronger and advance if needed. We made this song as we wanted it to be relatable to the youth and it struck the proper chord with the audience.

Prakriti Kakar, you furthermore may play the keyboard, as a singer how has it helped you and what are the instruments that you simply want to play?

Playing any instrument becomes important and may be a valuable addition to you once you sing. I'm playing the keyboard since childhood; it helps improve the pitch of a singer and takes you to a different level. I do my riyaz also with it. So, knowing the keyboard has always helped me. It comes also beneficial once you have a song in your mind, but the arrangement isn’t able to present it to someone, then singing with just a keyboard comes as a boon. The instrument I might like to learn guitar.
